Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: A very quiet and peaceful wooded field with plenty of space and easy to access portaloos. The owners were very friendly and informative, they told us about some nearby pubs. Portaloos were clean. Location was great, easy to find and close to a town to grab some supplies. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: The owner was fab, super friendly and helpful. Loved that it was basic and felt like wild camping.

Disliked: My car struggled with the track to the field as it was off road, but a bigger car would find it easy.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Lovely area, great woods for walking in, close walking distance to local villages.

Disliked: Not a fan of portallos (personal opinion but others may not mind this) but there were a lot scattered around the site so everyone wasn’t using the same one! Plus they were very clean! Further down the site a group of campers were playing loud music into the early hours which kept most of us awake!

From the manager: Hi Daniel thanks for the review please let us know if campers are been disruptive in any way as we would ask they stop playing the music immediately ,sorry that we were not aware of the music. The policy is that everyone stops playing music by 10 pm at the latest. Kind Regards Castle Gate

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: A gorgeous valley oasis surrounded by trees. Very well kept portaloos Hidden under the canopy. Fresh water taps by each one. Lovely walks along the canal and surrounding areas. Owners are extremely nice and helpful. BBQs allowed. Very sheltered. Ground soft but firm for pegs. The price. Cars allowed by pitch. Would highly recommend.

Local attractions

Once you’ve warmed up on the farm, head off to the Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve 20 minutes away, for walks through the woodland, meadows and orchards that make up the 549-hectare reserve. Tread quietly for glimpses of deer, butterflies and kingfishers; you can always save your yelling for a ride on the ziplines at the forest’s Go Ape! adventure park. If farm life’s given the kids (or, ahem, you) a desire to get hands-on with the animals, take flight to Little Owl Farm Park (20 minutes’ drive), where they (or, ahem, you) can pet chicks and bunnies and make pals with the pigs. Best be keeping your hands to yourselves if you then head on to the West Midland Safari Park (15 minutes) – the beasts here are rather bigger and better viewed from a safe distance. Holiday not complete without hitting a few balls about? Depending on your golfing prowess you may like to swing your way round the 18-hole course at Kidderminster Golf Club, or putt your way round the zany obstacles at the miniature golf course in Wolverley. Train buffs will know Kidderminster as a place to join the steam powered Severn Valley Railway; it’s also home to the Museum of Carpet (a bit niche, this one, but with high praise from past visitors).
