  • A half-hour drive to Warwick Castle; 15 minutes to the Cotswolds
  • Shop, family bathroom and reception area for tourist information
If you’re drawn by the thought of waking up in glorious countryside, and hitting the hay in your cosy pod thoroughly chilled, you’re in luck. Bredon-Vale Caravan and Camping campsite is a peaceful spot near Evesham in Worcestershire, with wonderful views over Bredon Hill and the Malverns. Whether you’re overnighting on a longer journey or hanging around for a while to explore the Worcestershire countryside, everything on site is geared towards your relaxation. All you need to bring is a duvet, pillows and towels – pretty much everything else is ready and waiting for you. Useful bits and bobs in the wooden pods include a kettle, heater and electricity, plus a fridge to store goodies for grilling on the barbecue outside. There are lovely hot showers in the amenities block so you can revitalise after a day’s adventuring, as well as oodles of space in the family bathroom to clean up the kids. When Reception’s open (morning and evening), you can pick up essentials for those ‘oops’ moments, and fresh milk and bread daily. If you need a bit of inspo on how to spend your day, staff there have got plenty of ideas up their sleeves. As well as being surrounded by walks and cycle routes, the site is west-facing, so hopefully you can catch some amazing sunsets (pack the camera) – and thanks to the lack of light pollution in these parts, there are lots of star-gazing ops on clear nights too.

Bell tent

Liked: We stayed in the Bell tent with our 6 and 12 year old. We loved the tent, it was spacious with everything we needed- heater if cold, fridge, chairs etc. We hired a log burner which was great fun and we were very lucky the weather improved and we enjoyed a lovely sunset. The toilets and shower block were also very clean and the facilities near by at "The Valley" were also very handy.

Disliked: The toilets were about a minute from the tent but now our children are older this was less of a problem, there were only 2 female toilets so just be aware with little ones they may need to queue. We also had someone playing intermittent music loudly between 10.30 and midnight which was a bit annoying and the traffic noise is quite loud if you're a light sleeper but other than that a very peaceful campsite.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review and lovely comments about our bell tent and location of the campsite. It is only a short walk to the amenity block, where the 2 toilets are more than the stipulated amount we need to provide for the size of the campsite. We also have a family room, which you could have utilised if you felt this was helpful for you. We regularly check the site for noise up until 10.30pm and on this occasion presume this was coming from the village rather than the campsite. Glad you found the site to be peaceful overall.

Nancy on-site caravan (no pets)

Liked: Showers caravan grounds

Disliked: Caravan didn't lock from outside I think that people who book should be made aware beforehand as you have to take all your belongings with you when leaving the caravan we were not told until check in no apology or reduction in price

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to write a review - so pleased you enjoyed the campsite surroundings and shower/toilet block. The caravan can be locked from the inside for safety at night and like a tent, or our bell tent, you need to take just valuables with you when you go out. We don't advertise the caravan as a lockable unit and have not had any issues previously with this matter.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - so pleased you enjoyed the surroundings and space. Water temperature is personal choice, we have never had anyone comment on the water being too hot in the past - in fact it's usually what everyone praises the site for. Our wifi bench is broken - another going in place shortly....

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked: Everything! Clean facilities, well kept site with separate dog walking area and really helpful friendly owners. Pitches were spacious and tidy. There were plenty of walks off site with a fabulous local pub nearby, and the beautiful Cotswolds villages of Moreton, Stow and Bourton only a short drive away. The site had a small shop offering the basics and you could order fresh croissants every morning if you wanted, also homemade jam, honey etc available. The owners had made a lot of effort to be wildlife friendly which was lovely to see with pathways around the site being created through wildlife grass areas. A truly peaceful environment to relax in.

Disliked: Our only negative feedback was the shower kept switching off every minute which was a bit annoying but the water was lovely and hot and the facilities were immaculate. It certainly wouldn’t put us off returning to the site.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely and detailed review! So happy you had a great stay and found the Cotswolds beautiful. The showers are on push buttons so that hot water is not wasted on site - a very common feature of most campsites. Look forward to seeing you again!

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked: Quiet secluded site with all the basic amenities you need. We stayed in pitch 19 and had great views, even though the it was quite a wet weekend, the ground seemed to absorb the excess rain quite well. The toilet and hot showers were very clean.

Disliked: Only minor and didn't really affect me too much but where we were pitch, the pathway to our pitch was wide enough for the car to get through but made it difficult to turn around and get out, luckily I didnt need to move the car but also the adjacent pitch was empty so I could use that to turn the car around.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your great review! Great feedback for us too, thank you - will look at creating more turning room. Hope to see you again in better weather!

Local attractions

Keen to hit the footpaths? The Blossom Trail (five minutes’ drive) has three routes, ranging from a leisurely family stroll to a more robust six-mile hike. More walks take in Iron Age remains at Kemerton Camp (25 minutes) on Bredon Hill, the Malvern Hills (40 minutes, for day-long yomps with serious views), and of course, the Cotswolds (15 minutes), where you can also cycle through delightful mellow-stone villages like Bourton-on-the-Water (35 minutes) and Broadway (15 minutes). If you love history, there is plenty to keep the family busy. For a spot of castle-bagging, kids can follow an interactive trail or dress up as medieval knights at Warwick Castle, and there’s a massive play area with zipwires and obstacle courses at Sudeley Castle (both 30 minutes). For a dose of serious culture, take in a play at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon (20 minutes), or book seats at concerts and international film releases at Malvern Theatres (40 minutes).
