  • Simple pitches in a flat field a mile from the village of Quinton
  • A 10-minute drive to Stratford-upon-Avon; Warwick Castle 25 minutes
  • Greenway cycle path opposite the site; dogs on leads welcome
Keep things simple for your break in the Warwickshire countryside – The Moat is a back-to-basics site on a flat field about a mile from the village of Quinton, and it’s a place that’s all about providing a quiet spot for a budget-friendly outdoor break. Accessed via a layby on the B4632, this site is well located for all sorts of days out, from walks in the Cotswolds National Landscape to exploring historic attractions like Warwick Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon. A greenway starts just across the road for cycle rides to Stratford-upon-Avon, and there are plenty of places around for a good walk in scenic countryside. Dogs are welcome to join you on those walks, and on site as long as they’re kept on a lead. The setup here is a simple one, with just toilet and shower facilities and a washing-up area, plus a chemical disposal point. There’s plenty of space to get your pitch set up with whatever gazebos, awnings and outdoor furniture makes you feel at home, and for the kids to have a bit of a run around in the fresh air. There’s a shop for your food supplies in the village – and it’s also got a pub and a takeaway for easy meals. A couple of other pubs are within a few minutes’ drive as well.

A top-notch, secure spot with roomy, flat grass sites. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Guests rave about the peace, clean facilities, and great value. Handy for Stratford-upon-Avon and cycling, though a bit of road noise is sometimes heard.

Liked This is a great spot on level ground. The owner's were extremely friendly and helpful. the owner also kept us supplied with fresh tomatoes. The facilities area was spotless. We had a 3 night stay and visited Stratford-upon-Avon on our bikes along the cycle path.
The site is very secure it's near a main road but this didn't bother us. I would recommend this site and I'm looking forward to returning soon.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked Secure site.
Clean facilities.
Dogs free.
Quiet site.
Polite owners.

We had a beautiful stay here. The showers toilets and other facilities were so clean. The field is lovely and level too!
If you call direct it’s cheaper.
The owners were lovely and polite.

Disliked We parked along the hedge which backs onto a dead end lay-by .. and some local folks decided to have a late night gathering. Not the fault of the campsite at all. We just had to park in the shade.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked This is a fantastic spot. Lovely hot water in the showers. The toilets, showers and pot was area were spotless. We stayed for 3 nights to visit Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick castle. (Great places to visit).
The site is very secure with the owner acting as gate guard, opening up as you leave and greeting you when you come back in the evening.
The site is easy to find and Waitrose and Lidl are just a short drive away.
The site is near a road but this didn't bother us. It's only busy at peak times and really quiet during the day.
The surroundings are beautiful with lots of wildlife. We were lucky enough to have a pair of Red Kites flying over from time to time.
If we could score 11 for customer service we would. Not just because the owner kept us supplied with fresh tomatoes and plums from his garden.

Disliked Nothing.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked Booked a 1 night stop to break our journey to the South Coast. Gave us the opportunity to drop into Stratford upon Avon for an explore.
Greeted by a lovely host and given freshly picked tomatoes. It's a big flat secure field, our boy and dog ran around playing football while we set the van up.
Facilities all good, showers and washing up.
May even return for a night on our return journey.

Disliked Nothing.

Local attractions

When you stay here you’ll be just a little way north of the top edge of the Cotswolds National Landscape, so there’s lots of lovely scenery to explore on walks and outings there. Some of the favourite spots nearby include National Trust - Hidcote (10 minutes’ drive), Broadway Tower (20 minutes), Cotswold Lavender (20 minutes) and Batsford Arboretum (25 minutes). For other ways to see some of your surroundings, you may like to take a walk along the eight-mile Blossom Trail from Evesham (25 minutes) – it’s particularly lovely in spring, when all the flowers bloom. A steam train ride from Broadway to Cheltenham on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is another excellent option. To take in some of the area’s history, spend the day in Stratford-upon-Avon (10 minutes), visiting Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Tudor World. The town is also home to the MAD Museum and Stratford Butterfly Farm for family outings. Warwick Castle (25 minutes) is a great choice for a full day out as well, with all sorts of displays, play areas and kids’ activities as well as the medieval castle and parkland to explore.
