A secluded smallholding surrounded by Staffordshire scenery is the setting for Beech Villa Camping, a quiet little place where you’ll share the space with horses, a few sheep and only a handful of other guests. This site is just on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park, with a stunning view over to The Roaches, a prominent ridge of hills with some great walking trails to try out (they’re a couple of miles away should you fancy getting out for a hike). There are also local walking trails to the nearby Tittesworth Water (which hosts a range of watersports), Lud’s Church chasm and lots of other nature spots. All of this may well make you feel like you’re right out in the middle of nowhere – but in fact this site is very well connected – it’s conveniently close to the A53 (while still being far enough away to avoid road noise) and about five minutes’ drive from Leek, which has a good range of shops and places to eat. The local area is home to a number of excellent pubs, including Ye Olde Rock Inn (a mile away up the A53), which has been faithfully serving locals and visitors since 1816. If you don't fancy travelling that far, it's handy to know there's also a much closer pub about two minutes' walk from the site, serving up drinks and dinners. Facilities on site are simple, including a washing-up area and toilets that previous guests have praised for their cleanliness. Barbecues and firepits are permitted as long as they’re kept off the ground and properly monitored. Two dogs per pitch are welcome, but please keep them on leads at all times while on site.

Liked Friendly and helpful owner. Nice that there are animals at the site too watch (sheep and horses).
The site was clean with lovely surrounding views and close to the local pub with a great garden. The reservoir is only a walk away too.
The pitches were very generous is size.

Disliked Portaloos but that's a personal thing and they were very clean.

Liked Friendly owner, great large pitch areas. Very well spaced from other tents which made it feel quite private. Really clean toilet facilities. 2 minutes walk from a lovely pub serving great food.

Liked Convient travel location with public transport links directly outside. 10/10 view from the site of ramshaw rocks. Very clean and tidy site, horses are a nice bonus!

You’ll have plenty of options for outdoor activities nearby – perhaps a walk over to The Roaches (an hour on foot), some fishing, paddleboarding or canoeing at Tittesworth Reservoir (five minutes’ drive) or birdwatching at RSPB Coombes Valley (10 minutes). You could also take a dip at Blake Mere Mermaid Pool (five minutes) or have a scenic ride on the Churnet Valley Railway (20 minutes). Heading in to the Peak District a little more, you may like to wander around the pretty spa town of Buxton (15 minutes), cross the Dovedale stepping stones (half an hour) or visit the showcaves around Castleton (35 minutes). If you’ve brought the kids along, you may also like to have the Peak Wildlife Park (15 minutes) on your radar – and of course the many rides and rollercoasters of Alton Towers (25 minutes).
