Tourer pitches backed by trees

  • Quiet Shropshire touring park 10 minutes’ drive from Ironbridge
  • Wroxeter Roman City 15 minutes’ drive and The Wrekin 25 minutes
  • Well-stocked fishing lake; play areas and dog walks from the pitches
Quiet and surrounded by forested hills, Poolview Caravan Park stretches over 15 acres and is 10 minutes’ drive from the UNESCO-listed museums at Ironbridge in Shropshire; it has fully serviced hardstanding pitches for campervans, caravans and large motorhomes. There’s plenty of space for kids to run around and kick a ball, and a choice of woodland walks directly from the pitches, so you can stretch your legs and those of any accompanying canines. If you keep your eyes open, you may see deer flitting among the trees on the edge of the park. Its central focus is the peaceful fishing lake, stocked with a variety of game fish for coarse fishing. It’s open from dawn to dusk for guest use, with night fishing allowed by prior agreement, and non-residents are welcome to fish, subject to a daily licence charge. There are no-frills showers and loos on the site, which is tucked into the side of a steep hill. You may occasionally notice some buzzing from the electric cables overhead.

Power optional concrete slab caravan site

Liked The location, it's very close to Ironbridge and is a good access point if you were doing an Ironbridge weekend.

Disliked The rigid timekeeping for having to be at the site. If you're travelling somewhere 5pm is not always possible to make, we got stuck in traffic and we're almost turned away even after paying for the site. The actual camping area itself is more like a large car park they crammed the caravans and camper vans in, The washing facilities though clean and practical are 150 yards away down a hill. This wasn't the kind of place that we would choose to stay again.

Power optional concrete slab caravan site

Liked Very friendly welcome on arrival
Locked gates made u feel secure
Pitch roomy but electric was plugged in down quite a drop
Quiet night apart from yappy dog, but not an issue with campsite tbf
Otherwise good night

Disliked Buzzing from overhead cables could be annoying for some users but pitch was fine for an overnight stay. Do not be put off by drive up where there is construction work as site is unaffected
