  • Small family-run and adults-only site in the hamlet of Weston
  • Well placed for walks around the Shropshire Hills
  • On a four-acre meadow with direct access to footpaths
If you’re a wanderer at heart, a stay at Weston House Caravan Site – an adults-only touring park (for motorhomes and caravans only) on a spacious four-acre meadow – will give your legs a good stretch. Being in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty, this is an excellent base for those planning to spend their days traipsing about on two feet: the Long Mynd, Brown Clee and Wenlock Edge are all within 20 minutes’ drive, and there are plenty of public footpaths easily accessible from your front door (also good news for travelling mutts in need of walkies). The park is in the pretty Shropshire hamlet of Weston, 10 minutes’ drive from Much Wenlock, and a mere 100 metres from the B4368 – so getting in and out is straightforward as there’s no need to navigate your van along any winding lanes or through narrow gateways. Once you’re here, the place is peaceful and the pitches are equipped with 15-amp electrical hookups, plus they have plenty of room for awnings, barbecues and outdoor furniture. Eager to put those feet up after all the trekking? Wander down to the wildlife pond for quiet times chilling out on a bench seeing what you can see. If you prefer your waterside times to involve angling, relocate to a coarse fishing lake a couple of miles away, and if your walking efforts have left you in need of a pint and a plate of grub, It’ll take you about 10 minutes to drive to a country pub.

Local attractions

You could dedicate your hol to wanders in the countryside, but if you’d like to amp up your break, all sorts of high-octane activities are available 10 minutes’ drive from the park at an adventure centre with quad biking, clay pigeon shooting and Segway rides. Quieten things down with meanders around Much Wenlock Abbey ruins (10 minutes), Brown Clee Hill (15 minutes), and Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd (25 minutes), or give yourself a break as you sit and stare out at the scenery during the Severn Valley Railway ride from Bridgnorth (15 minutes). Switch ambling around for historical explores at spots like the Wroxeter Roman City and Roman Vineyard (25 minutes), then fast-forward a good few thousand years into the future with a trip to the Ironbridge UNESCO World Heritage Site (also 25 minutes). With an open-air museum bringing the Victorian era to life, this town is a key place for learning about the Industrial Revolution.
