Fancy waking up to views of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, then strolling just a couple of minutes to the nearby lake for a day of fishing? Members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) can do just that as New House Farm Certified Location, just outside the town of Church Stretton. Pitches at this CAMC members-only site have lovely views of Caer Caradoc – and you can get out for a walk on this 459-metre hill easily enough too, as it’s less than half an hour away on foot. Plenty of other Shropshire Hills walks or bike rides can be on the schedule while you’re staying here as well, including routes around popular spots like the Stiperstones and Carding Mill Valley. And that fishing? Well, that’s at the large lake on site, which is stocked with carp and open to all guests who have the relevant fishing licence. And for those of you that aren’t into fishing, the lake simply provides an attractive backdrop for picnics, dog walks or just hours of waterside daydreaming. Being just on the edge of Church Stretton is a handy place to be – the centre of the market town is about a mile away for shops, pubs and cafés, and it’s got a railway station for outings to places like Ludlow and Shrewsbury (both about half an hour away). As a site that’s entirely dedicated to touring guests, it’s got lots of handy features including a wide turning from the road, large hardstanding and grass pitches, portable toilets, showers and electric and mains water hookups. Kids are welcome here, and there are a couple of large parks a few minutes’ walk away where they can have a good run around.

Awesome spot for keen walkers and anglers! Great lake and hill views, plenty of space with power. Easy reach to Church Stretton. Basic loos/showers a bit pricey for some, but owners are tops and it's super peaceful. Weekends get busy with fishos, weekdays are chill. Views? Unreal.

Liked Everything about this site is brilliant, so peaceful even with the amount of anglers ( I am one myself ) everyone I had contact with on the lake were pleasant and respectful, owners pleasant and approachable, already booked up again

Liked Hard standing pitches overlooking the lake within walking distance of Church Stretton with electricity included. Clean toilet and shower cabin.

Disliked Lots of poo on the grass between us and the lake - we later found out it was geese poo and not dog poo!!

Liked Lovely site. Very peaceful. Fishing in front of van fantastic for husband.
Nice walk into village with good connection by train to Shrewsbury for a day out .

Disliked Shower curtain not ready any good water still everywhere. mop and bucket would be handy for cleaning up after a shower.

Liked Amazing location flat pitches electricity and water on each. Owner welcomed us with helpful welcome pack and friendly banter. Peaceful site very little noise or disturbance other than the sheep birds and occasional cough from the fishermen. 10 minute walk into town lots of pubs,restaurants and coffee shops. Regular trains to Ludlow or Shrewsbury. So much to see and do will have to come back again....and again..

Disliked Just the 2 toilets and a single shower quite a walk from the pitch but not big problem clean and regularly serviced.

Liked Location for walking or to walk into town perfect.
Setting ..... looking over the lake and hills in the distance could not be better.
Pitches good size level electrics and water. shower toilet facilities ( I didn't use) a short walk.
Access straight off main road is ideal but no noticeable traffic noise on site.
Potentially a 5* site but....

Disliked This is a new venture where fishing had been to the fore. New signs to stop fishing in front of pitches too small and fishermen had to have this pointed out. Also the fishermen drive through in front of pitches to other side of lake and had groups of friends drive down to meet them for 1/2 hr then drive off. At the Weekend whole families came down to join them for picnics either side of pitches. Luckily I was in the middle.
Will definitely return for 'weekdays' next year and see if things changed re areas fished.

Liked Beautiful & peaceful.The view over the lake from every pitch is perfect. Water & EHU on our pitch. Toilet & Shower Room + separate toilet for the private use by pitch users.
Close to the charming Market Town of Church Stratton ( 1 mile ) 5 mins by car 20 mins walk. Also Little Stratton with great pubs ( 2 miles by car )
Great hosts.
Great local walks too.

Disliked Bit of a walk to the Toilet & Shower especially if the weather wasn’t kind .
Water could be of a higher temperature in the shower.
Theses are very minor dislikes & to be fair didn’t bother us but might bother others .( I am digging deep here for a dislike )
