  • Award-winning site on an Oxfordshire farm 10 mins' drive from Banbury
  • Blenheim Palace and Warwick Castle within a 40-minute drive
  • Friendly owners on hand to offer local advice; dogs welcome
‘Whatever you wish to do, we’ll try our best to help you achieve it,’ say the folk that run Anita's Touring Caravan Park – and that’s a generous offer indeed, as it’s quite likely the plethora of options around here for outings and activities may leave some guests feeling a little bewildered… This well-maintained award-winning site site is part of an Oxfordshire farm that’s very well located for all sorts of activities, whether you fancy gentle days of walking and cycling along local lanes or ticking off big attractions like Warwick Castle, Blenheim Palace and the British Motor Museum. You’ll also be able to add places like Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon to your list of places to go, and venture into the Cotswolds for scenic walks and visits to gorgeous towns and villages. Essentially, whatever you’ve got in mind, the friendly team here will help you out with leaflets, maps and suggestions – including ideas for places to eat and a few local spots you may not have thought of. As well as providing a welcoming atmosphere and heaps of useful advice, the owners have also set up lots of handy amenities for guests, including a well-stocked shop, picnic tables and a couple of covered eating areas to make mealtimes nice and easy. There’s also a dog park, a chemical disposal point and a smart fully tiled toilet block that’s kept clean at all times and has accessible facilities.

What customers say

Consistently well-kept and tidy site, with friendly, helpful staff. Guests love the spacious pitches, spotless facilities, and lovely vibe. Food vans, especially pizza, are a hit. Some mention occasional road noise, but it’s generally peaceful. Great for families and dog owners. Notes: limited local buses, want more kids' activities.

Liked Lovely little site with great clean amenities. Wardens we're lovely and very helpful. Site was secure too which I really liked.

Disliked Just it being near to the road. I never normally notice, but I did in the early hours.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. We're delighted to hear you found the site clean, secure, and well maintained, and that our wardens were helpful during your stay.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the road noise. While it's something largely beyond our control, we understand it can be more noticeable at certain times of the night. Mel

Liked Clean facilities and big open space

Disliked Noisy road, push button showers and uneven pitch, had a couple of holes

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We're glad you enjoyed the clean facilities and open space on site.
We're sorry to hear some aspects of your stay didn't meet expectations. During your visit, our team worked hard to address the concerns you raised, including providing a complimentary extension to your stay to help resolve the issues. We always aim to be responsive and accommodating when problems arise.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the road noise, shower controls, and pitch condition, although the pitch is flat, its a natural not man made field, and will continue to monitor and improve these areas wherever possible.
We wish you all the best and thank you for staying with us.

Could have been amazing, but wont be returning.

Liked Cleanliness of the facilities, and the fresh flowers in the ladies loos.
Food vans that visited (pizza and Mexican)
The lovely social media lady and her partner that always stopped for a chat.
The cutest baby horses.
Our fellow campers.
The space in the play field.
The lock being fixed immediately

Disliked Pitch sizes were small, could not use all allocated space as cars would not get passed.
Our neighbours being told to pitch closer to us. Could not get car back in next to tent when returned from day out.
The rudeness and attitude of staff as problems arise. Customer service was seriously lacking.
The second toilet lock not being fixed, and an out of order sign put up for 3 days (I was told, almost accusingly that someone must have hit it with a hammer when I reported the problem).

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed aspects of your stay, including the facilities, visiting food vendors, our social media team, the foals, and the play area.
We note your comments regarding the pitch layout and facilities. However, we strongly disagree with your characterisation of our staff. Throughout your stay, our team responded promptly to reported issues, including repairing one of the toilet locks immediately. Unfortunately, due to several interactions with our staff during your visit, we do not feel our site is the right fit for your needs and respectfully ask that you do not return in the future.
We wish you well in finding a campsite better suited to your expectations.

One quick mystery for us to solve 🕵️‍♀️, we noticed one of the photos showing a sign doesn't appear to be from our campsite. We just wanted to mention it in case it was uploaded by accident. We hope to welcome you back again soon! 😊🐾Mel

Liked The staff were friendly and helpful and very welcoming. Communication before we arrived via email was excellent. The site was well kept and the bathroom facilities were clean and well equipped. Excellent WiFi and tv signal. Homemade pizzas on Friday and Saturday night- we didn’t have any but they smelt delicious. Apparently it’s best to pre order. We only stayed 2 nights but we really enjoyed it and will be back!!

Local attractions

As well as having tons of gorgeous walks and bike rides, this area is liberally dotted with heritage attractions. Nearby, you can flex that National Trust card at 18th-century Farnborough Hall (five minutes’ drive) and Upton House and Gardens (15 minutes), with a fabulous art collection as well as the gorgeous gardens. Broughton Castle (15 minutes) and Warwick Castle (25 minutes) are also not far off – or you could make the trip to Blenheim Palace (40 minutes) for a day exploring the state rooms, formal gardens and other attractions (including a maze, a mini train and a butterfly house). Even the urban centres around here are historic – you could walk in the footsteps of Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon (35 minutes), stroll around pretty Stow-on-the-Wold (45 minutes) or pop into the colleges of Oxford (45 minutes). For something a bit different, admire all the shiny vehicles at the British Motor Museum or book a meeting with the cute hairy cows at Colready Highlands – both are 15 minutes’ drive away.
