Liked: A warm welcome to a lovely site, close to the canal for walks into Retford and nearby villages. Great pub options including for food within a reasonable walking distance along the canal or path/road if you prefer. Bus options into Retford if not wanting to walk. Clean and modern toilet / shower block and level gravel pitches. £1 per night free electric if booking via pitchup and using the electric hookup.

Liked: Spacious fairly level pitches. Ideally situated between two pubs, both of which can be accessed with a short walk along the canal - or via a pavement along the road. We had a nice meal at The Boat Inn. We opted not to use the electric hookup but were told we got £1 worth as we’d booked via Pitchup. There was a hairdryer in the toilets/shower. The place was extremely clean and tidy which was lovely and we enjoyed a couple of chats with the wardens who pointed out the tree we pitched near sometimes has a visiting kestrel.
Disliked: Bit of road noise and some barking dogs from a house down the lane. Would have been good for the dog to have been allowed off the lead in the dog walking area but understand not all dogs are well enough behaved.
