Looking at the Lincolnshire countryside as a location for a bit of walking, cycling, wildlife watching or fishing? Fancy finding a cosy glamping lodge to use as a base for relaxing between all your activities? Cast your eye over the options at Rural Roosts, in the tiny village of Stainfield, about 25 minutes’ drive from both Lincoln and Market Rasen.
The stylish pine lodges here are set around a couple of coarse fishing lakes, with exclusive fishing rights for site guests. Those lakes sit at the centre of a working farm with wildflower meadows, wetland areas and wildlife aplenty. There are lots of lovely walks around the site itself and into the surrounding farmland – and that’s particularly good news for those of you bringing dogs along to join you.
The site’s clever design means that each lodge has fabulous views over the lake – just the thing for some quiet time chilling out with family, friends or your beloved. The interior design is just as excellent – the open-plan living area has a kitchen, dining table, sofa and TV, with separate bedrooms and a bathroom too. Double glazing and heating ensure you’ll be nice and cosy even in chilly weather, and bed linen and towels are provided to keep packing simple.
Outside, the lodges all have outdoor furniture for alfresco meals and drinks; pick up supplies at the supermarket 20 minutes’ drive away. There’s a pub a couple of miles away if you fancy eating out instead.
