Liked: friendly reception electric point lots of farm animals showers were hot . lots of birds in the wooded area
Disliked: toilet and shower block needs updating
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thankyou for your generally kind review. We have only been open 9 years. The toilet blocks are only 6 years old. In what way do they need updating??? They are clean, have central heating, loads of hot water and all in wet room construction which allows us to power wash. Most reviews give us a 10 for facilities and comments consistently say toilet n showers are great

Liked: We absolutely loved our stay at sunflower park! For my first time camping as an adult with with 4 children, ages 9,7,3,3- we have found a new found love for being outdoors! The animals around the park as incredible, all my children loved them. The spaces available for football and also the pond for fishing. Each one of my children had barely any screen time and they were present for the whole weekend. We used a none electric pitch and it was just perfect. Facilities were amazing, and nothing was too far away. Thank you!

From the manager: Wow. Sounds like you had a great time. To get kids off screens is an aim of ours so chuffed to hear that 🌻 Thankyou

Liked: Loved everything. Second time visiting this time brought other family with us who were first time campers. We all loved it. Felt safe for the children. Very clean and well taken care of-including the animals. Honesty shop is one of our favourite parts, so nice to see people trust. Rural but everything you need on site-if not owners would definitely help out making sure you have everything you need.

Liked: Good value, friendly welcome, , lots of animals to see on the farm ( great for younger children and families). There is a cafe which we didn't use and an honesty box shop too. We had a good sized level grass pitch with electric connection.
Disliked: I was a bit shocked by the state of the loos and showers when we arrived but they were cleaned the following day and I learnt there had been a family bereavement recently which had thrown routine out

From the manager: Thankyou for your review. Yes you arrived immediately after my wife's mum's funeral. You mentioned that the wet rooms were a little sandy! They were then cleaned. The site had had very little business the previous few days and would not of been in a shocking state, despite the mother in law's funeral. You've scored us an 8 for WiFi when we don't have any, along with a 6 for accommodation when you brought your own caravan. As for a 4 for cleanliness we feel this is a little unfair particularly given the circumstances

Liked: Nice place felt safe for children to play at the park with other children. My daughter age 6 had a great time on the trampoline and climbing frame. Pitches spaced out and not over crowded as some tents were larger than others. We came here over two years ago and can see the huge renovations the farm has undertaken.
Disliked: Not really a dislike as the site is out in the countryside but did not appreciate the barking dogs at 2am. (Ear plugs next time) As for the nosey geese, snoring pigs and screeching birds it's all part of the experience and novelty being down on the farm. After reading some of the other reviews I packed bathroom spray and just gave the shower room the once over before use as I would anywhere I go. Site can be quite sandy so may put people off when using the facilities. Would be nice to see some farm produce to purchase like fresh eggs sausages and bacon just an idea as seen at another camp site offering a breakfast pack to cook or cooked pre-ordered the night before as the snack bar was not open at 8am when campers were getting ready to go. Marked down on facilities as not set opening times bar area or snack bar.

From the manager: Thankyou for kind review and lovely photos. We are an animal rescue centre come campsite. Not a farm come campsite, so don't have produce sorry. We experimented with other suppliers stock in the shop but there wasn't much demand and ended up with wasted stock. We do have published times for the cafe. We serve breakfast from 9am til approx 2.30 depending on demand. The times are published on the side of the decking. You too may have asked. With nearly 10yrs experience there are very few campers that leave at 8am. That said if requested we could have facilitated an early breakfast if required. We do sell our own eggs but this is dependent on our girls and if they are sitting. Hope to see you again. 🌻
