Peaceful open spaces
Entrance to site
Pup tents and awnings are free of charge

  • Peaceful site in the grounds of Stanford Hall estate
  • A 10-minute drive from Lutterworth and 35 from Birmingham’s NEC
  • Woodland and mature gardens on site for local walks
Reckon you deserve a taste of the aristocratic life but the bank balance completely disagrees? Come to a very satisfying compromise with an affordable stay at Stanford Hall Caravan Park, attached to a manor house on a sprawling estate with manicured gardens and leafy woodland to wander around. Despite being in a nature-rich area, this place a 10-minute drive from Leicestershire's Lutterworth is a cinch to get to from the main M1, M6 and A14 roads, making it a top stopover spot enroute to urban centres like Leicester (half an hour's drive) and Northampton (35 minutes). Amenities are close by, including a large supermarket around 10 minutes’ drive away, and food can be picked up at the shop in the park – a handy fix if you’re after some eats to nosh out in the open air while soaking up the site’s gorgeous greenery. Appetite sated and ready to roam? Have a chat with the owners and staff about attractions and activities in the local area – the whole team is well-versed in customer service and they're always happy to help. If you’re up for settling down here for a while, that's also no problem – long-term stays are very much possible.

Liked: We stayed for one night as attended the MINI SHOW on the grounds the following day. We tested out our new teardrop camper and loved our stay. We were made to feel most welcome and the lovely couple running the place were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely grass pitch .. free to choose where we went. We would have stayed another day but the weather took a turn for the worse! Thanks for everything x

Disliked: No toilets or showers but we knew this before we went and made it work somehow.. this is reflected in the very reasonable price. We’ll be back for sure

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked: Loved my night on Stanford. Wide entrance from the country lane with a large parking area by reception. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Happy to chat and offer info. The grass area I was directed to was an electric pitch without boundaries as such with lots of room and a few nearby trees. Nicely landscaped. Very nice area, quiet and well kept. 16 amp hookup I believe. Elsan, grey, fresh water and bins were in several areas nearby. There's no shower block or toilets - you must be self sufficient so no tents, but well suited to caravans. Recommend the pizza van if there. £10 for a fresh fired pizza that was tasty. I'm already planning a return stopover here and would recommend it if you're looking for a quiet stopovers or a longer stay if you're happy using your caravans shower etc.

Disliked: Honestly, nothing. Was very happy there and it suited my needs perfectly for an overnight stop over.

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked: Lovely site. Very quiet and spacious. Has water and waste disposal. Very reasonable price and lovely owners. Pitches are also very level. Literally next door to the entrance for live in vehicles at the long Road festival. Also had a pizza and nachos van which was a pleasant surprise and sooo nice!

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked: Absolutely loved our weekend camping at Stanford hall caravan park, the owners where so incredibly lovely and helpful, it was my first ever camping trip with my family, I was feeling very nervous but I was instantly at ease as soon as we arrived, and we all had a great time will definitely visit again

Disliked: Only thing id say was a dislike is some one else staying at the sight kept driving remote control cars close to our van and it was scaring the dogs

OK for a last minute overnight stay, but I wouldn't stay any longer.

Power optional grass caravan site

Liked: Nice and friendly wardens. Our pitch was in the centre of the site with well maintained grass and areas of trees providing some shade.

Disliked: There were lots of permanent caravans and american style 5th wheel tourers around the edge of the site. A lot of them were lovely, with little garden areas. However, far too many were dirty and uncared for, with all sorts of dead foliage and rubbish surrounding them. I think the owners need to put better regulations in place regarding maintenance of these vans as the site felt more like a messy encampment rather than a holiday park.

Liked: Great reception from both Sharon and Darren. Nice little shop for the essentials you have forgotten. Great site, lots of seasonal pitches, plus ad-hoc ones as well. We just stayed a couple of nights, but will definitely be back. So, quiet and peaceful

Local attractions

If it’s the manor in the grounds of Stanford Hall Caravan Site that has swayed you into booking a place at the park, you might very well want to seek out more of the handsome homes in the local area. One such spot is Althorp Estate (25 minutes' drive), the former house of Princess Diana and her final resting place. Pay your respects when the grounds are open between July and August, then move on to Market Harborough (25 minutes) to browse the 60 covered stalls in the town’s award-winning indoor market. Pick up some artisanal bread and cheese from the independent vendors for a picnic back at the park before indulging in a little more rack-rifling in Rugby (15 minutes) and Leicester (30 minutes). Birmingham’s NEC, meanwhile, is a 35-minute drive away if you’re attending a trade fair or concert, and William Shakespeare’s birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon (50 minutes) is well worth going out of your way for if you like your literature. Catch a play here at one of the theatres and check out the cottage of Anne Hathaway, the writer’s wife, about a mile out of the medieval market town too.
