Chill out in a hammock with views out over the Black Mountains with birds and livestock as your soundtrack. Then, set about cooking up something tasty on the firepit and gas hob cooking facilities that have been provided by Grove Farm Glamping in Walterstone, Herefordshire. Just outside of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the options for walks are very varied… For any long hikes, tackle the local peak, Skirrid Fawr (20 minutes’ drive). You may want to join the 177-mile Offa’s Dyke path, which runs through the Black Mountains and is around five minutes’ drive or 40 minutes’ walk away. There are plenty of fab walking opportunities straight from the site too. The rental tents at this small, rural glamping site all have comfy mattresses, pillows, cushions and extra blankets. Outside, the cooking area is surrounded by seating and hammocks and cooking equipment is provided. There are also facilities two minutes’ walk away, where each tent is allocated their own portable toilet and single shower cubicle based in a bespoke trailer. Before you watch the sunset from your bed or a hammock, those who want their food served to them can walk 10 minutes into Walterstone, where there’s a pub. All in all, this village location is sublime for outdoorsy breaks and a footpath straight from the tent goes to Walterstone Common and the other nearby villages.
