  • Family glamping in fully furnished tents near Tewkesbury
  • A 25-minute drive to Cheltenham, and 35 minutes to All Things Wild
  • Nature walk, play area on site; pubs, shops and golf 10 minutesā€™ drive
Offering luxury glamping in furnished tents at The Paddock, Bowrundel Lifestyle sits in Gloucestershire countryside near Tewkesbury, and is handy for both the M5 and M50. Itā€™s a family-friendly spot with a kidsā€™ play area and plenty of room for ball games and outdoor activities, and parents can easily keep an eye on their kids from the tents. Speaking of the tents, these are safari tents that come decked out with beds, a sofa, a kitchenette and a woodburner, plus festoon and fairy lights for a magical night-time vibe. A short walk takes you to the old stable block, now converted to washrooms housing spotless toilet and shower facilities, plus a baby-changing area. On this eco-friendly site, hot water is mostly generated by solar panels mounted on the roof. If you do decide to cook for yourselves, the washing-up area is at the side of the stable block ā€“ you can pick up stuff from the supermarkets in Tewkesbury (10 minutesā€™ drive), where there are also plenty of traditional beamed pubs serving tasty local grub if youā€™re having a break from cooking. Back at base, thereā€™s an on-site nature trail where you can spot wild flowers, birds and insects. The owners encourage you to stick to the footpath so you donā€™t disturb the wildlife.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: I liked the play area and shower, toilet, washing up facilities.

Disliked: I didnt like the fact that there wasn't a communal fridge/freezer like other campsites for those who only have tents and the weather is warm. Bit too small. Only one other camper there and so lacked atmosphere. No WiFi.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your comments, Rachel. We're sorry the campsite didn't meet your expectations. We are very small, only accommodating a maximum of 6 pitches at any one time, and we think that brings a quiet charm to the guests' experience with us. I'm sure you can appreciate that we are unable to guarantee a full campsite on any given day, so there are not always other campers there to help create the atmosphere you mentioned, unfortunately. The glampsite was full with guests in our safari and bell tents, and we welcome our camping guests to use The Paddock space as well as the camping meadow. We are open in our listing that we don't offer wifi, as we hope our guests can enjoy a bit of tech-free time and surround themselves with nature during their stay. We also don't provide a communal fridge as we have no communal area to house it without running the risk of it getting dirty (if left outside) and that would then go against our high standards of facilities and cleanliness. Thank you for booking with us though, we're glad you did enjoy the washroom facilities and children's play area. Katy & Ben.

A super find.

Bluebell 2 bedroom safari tent

Liked: Absolutely everything! Beautiful safari tents, spotlessly clean, fabulous quality, and attention to detail with hooks, bedding, hot water bottles and blankets. The bathrooms were better than some hotel rooms!

Disliked: You can hear the noise of the road nearby, but that really doesnā€™t spoil it! You canā€™t see the road, you have a beautiful view of the countryside.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We love that you noticed all the attention to detail- we try to make it a bit of home-from-home when you stay at Bowrundel Lifestyle glamping! We think the bathrooms are great too, but really enjoyed your comment about then being better than some hotel rooms you've stayed in before, it's a lovely compliment :) Thanks again for booking with us, Katy & Ben.

From the manager: Thanks for your comments, Denis. Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Spacious flat field. Lovely shower and toilet block with warm showers. Views across fields and animals. Play area and short nature trail. Super friendly owners. Convenient to get to.

Disliked: Nothing, weā€™d love to go back. If youā€™re a light sleeper then it might be good to be aware of background noise from the main road but it didnā€™t bother us.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks so much, Mary, that was a lovely read! Glad you enjoyed the facilities and being surrounded by nature. Thanks again for booking with us, you'd be welcome back anytime :) Katy & Ben.

Foxglove 2 bedroom safari tent

Liked: The paddock is beautiful, full of spring flowers with a very small play area. The safari tent is well furnished and the beds comfortable (and Iā€™m picky!). The toilets and shower were clean with plenty of hot water for our group. We found the owners to be quickly responsive when we had to reach out which was very helpful. Tewksbury was only a 10 minute drive away and we went for a lovely sunny walk along the river there.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We're so glad you enjoyed yourselves, Bethany. Thank you for your lovely review. Spring time is my favourite time in The Paddock because of the blooming wild flowers! Also love that you found the beds comfortable, as a self-professed picky person! Hope to welcome you back in the future. Katy & Ben.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: We camped on the meadow in our own tent. There were four of us and our dog. The site was beautifully maintained and the surroundings/views are lovely. We were extremely impressed with the superb toilet/shower facilities - the best by far we have encountered. Although we did not have very small children with us, the little play area and nature trail path are great features for those who have. I would highly recommend the site to anyone. Although we were aware of the sound of traffic from the road at night, it did not bother us or make sleeping difficult.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review, Sandra. It's great to hear what made your stay enjoyable, we work hard to keep the glampsite and campsite as pleasing as possible for our guests! Katy & Ben.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: I can't say a bad word about this site. Really nice, clean facilities, decent showers, baby changer. Nice views, lots of space for the kids to play and a small playground. Close to Tewkesbury (drive in less than 10 mins) and close to Twyning village with a couple of nice pubs, one right on the river which did nice pizzas. We stayed in our own tent but the huts and safari tents look great would consider coming back and staying there in winter.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks so much, Stephen- these photos are great! I've only just realised we can reply to guest reviews so you'll have to excuse the delay in my reply!! Glad you enjoyed yourselves and you know where we are if you're ever passing through! Katy & Ben.
