A very pleasant alternative vibe in stunning scenery.
Powered concrete and grass caravan site (maximum 7 metres)
Liked The scenery is amazing. Only there for one night, and a very hot day, so not much time to explore.
Enjoyed the green aspect of the site although this made the amount of single use plastic in the recycling from other campers even more shocking.
Not a criticism just an observation. I was the one who had the cold shower. No I did not change the dial, I read the notice! I just turned it on, cold water for 2 minutes, slightly warm for 30 seconds then back to cold.
Disliked Nothing.

From the manager: Hi, I've just been and checked all the showers. All running at the same time and set correctly as per the indicators on the dials and instructions. Constant Hot Water with no issues.
The "cycling" of the temperature is a good indicator that the temperature has been set too high for too long (as in a temperature so hot that it would be unbearable to stand under) and not checked. The only other scenario would be if all showers were turned on, all taps, and all toilets flushed at the same time causing a significant and sustained pressure drop.
There's been no other complaints and we've been exceptionally busy this last few weeks so.... I guess its a mystery 🤔
Kind Regards

Powered grass site
Liked It was our first time in Peak District. Campsite was easy to find. Owner Steve was super friendly and accommodating. Campsite very quiet and comfortable, with all the essentials you need for camping (toilets/showers, washing up station, drinking water taps). Location was gorgeous as well. Good routes to Bakewell and Buxton. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A totally relaxing stay…
Unpowered grass site
Liked Lovely and peaceful adults only site. Facilities great as a greener club site. Fires were allowed (if raised). Stephen the site owner was very friendly. Some great walks in the vicinity.
Disliked Nothing - suited us for the price point and would highly recommend.

Perfect if you want a quiet break and lots of walks
Powered concrete and grass caravan site (maximum 7 metres)
Liked Really lovely site, quiet as no children allowed….perfect for those of us that work in education and are around children 40 hours a week. Clean, well kept, dog friendly and nice to see recently planted trees too to add to existing mature ones. Heard and identified about 20 different birds in a few minutes on the Merlin app.
Did the walk to Pilsbury Castle along the Dove Valley.
Pub in walking distance and a couple of others nearby just a bit further away. Planning on going back this August
Disliked Shower running hot and cold. I followed instructions as requested, fine for two days, third day the shower was playing silly buggers. Not a huge issue though

Powered concrete and grass caravan site (maximum 7 metres)
Liked A nice welcome. Good straightforward pitch. Taps with fresh water at gate and walks to nearby amenities. Toilets and showers are very basic.
Disliked Toilets and showers clean but not spotless (rustic), bathmats had pink bacteria "Serratia Marcescens"...not ideal, some bleach or vinegar would clean it easily 🙂. Also was bank holiday so nearest pub was closed

From the manager: Toilets and Showers are as pictured and advertised. Nothing should have come as a surprise there. If you want Commercial Grade go to a Commercial Campsite, they're out there and considerably more expensive than us.
Good, hot, free to use showers.... no mention of that?
The Pub wasn't shut on a Bank Holiday Weekend. It actually opens for an extra day. Not sure where you've dreamt that up from 🤷♂️
Thankyou for taking the time to meticulously inspect the shower mats and declare that the they have a very specific type of benign bacteria on them. So has Cheese, and you'll eat plenty of that.
Kind Regards

Powered grass site
Liked Camp site was beautiful , lovely scenery , toilets and showers was clean and hot water was brilliant . It’s definitely upgraded from the negative reviews of this people had complained about showers and no hot water at the washing station but it seemed to supply all
Of that, owner is very friendly and has garage with. Wood and logs to purchase , we needed some hammers to hammer the tent down and he kindly let us use it, it’s in a fab location and small and friendly , lively and quiet too we will be returning 🫶🏼 value for money is amazing hopefully they don’t increase prices as it’s what makes it even better
