Go Wild in Wirksworth is a beautiful secluded woodland site two miles from the market town of Wirksworth. very close to the Peak District National Park. The site takes only one group booking at a time – a maximum of 12 people can join together for a wild camping adventure. Just you, your friends and family The camping field is surrounded by trees with wonderful views and not a house in site. There's a stream to play in, rope swings and a wood to wander in. Site owner Row is a Forest School leader and can be booked for Bushcraft and survival skills sessions. For folks who enjoy fine food you can try your hand at 'Cordon Bleau campfire cooking!' If that was not enough there's Boot Camp, Jungle Gym and even 'I'm not a Celebrity get me out of here You can build dens and bivouacs and spend the night in your own shelter then cook on an open fire. A three hour session costs £90 including firewood. Even though this is a wild site there' s a flushing toilet and hot showers heated by a woodburning stove. You can walk into Wirksworth across fields, or there's a regular bus service passing the site. There are three excellent country pubs within five miles and a craft ale house and microbrewery in the town itself. The site must be left tidy, litter free with all rubbish in the appropriate bins.
