What customers say
Crossgate Farm boasts stunning views and friendly staff, with a cafe/bar. Guests loved the animals, especially goats, and its walkability. Facilities are clean and new, though portaloos and washing-up areas had minor issues. Hilly terrain and sloped pitches were noted. Despite basic facilities, many recommend and would return.

Friendly with great facilities
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked Great to have a bar and lovely seating area! Also liked the nearby pub. Toilet block was well kept and the showers large with room to get changed .
Disliked Bit noisy tbh with flight path and busy road nearby, also not many flattish areas to pitch on

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked Lovely campsite, absolutely stunning views, nice clean toilets, the site is on a bit of a slope but there are lots of flat areas. We hired a fire pit with wood for £10 and a £20 deposit which was a welcome addition to a bit of a damp weekend, the cafe on site was lovely food as well, all the team we spoke to were lovely and friendly too
Disliked Not so much a dislike but worth noting, There were events on at the bar both nights we were there which went past the 10pm curfew you could hear it at our pitch, it didn't bother us, but I can't comment on how strictly the 10pm rule is enforced if these events weren't on. Also be aware there is quite a slope up to the toilet block from the pitches

Good stop off for £15
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked Friendly welcome and nice stop off for only £15 a night. Newly built shower and toilet block.. lovely looking café bar on site (didn't visit). Could feed the goats. Dogs permitted on leads. Lovely view of the surrounding area and reservoir in the right spot.
Shower was great (you need £1 or 20ps) Had a bigger, accessible toilet
Disliked Smell in toilets maybe from septic tank was overpowering.
There was a private function on when I arrived so loud and voices until late. I was told this on arrival and it really didn't bother me but it might others if expecting a quiet spot.
No proper washing up facilities at the time of writing but these were being built.
Planes fly over from Manchester airport and could hear road noise.

Paradise on a hilltop with great facilities.
Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked What a site! Stunning views and the animals are all adorable. The barn is a wonderful facility to have with food and drink served in lovely surroundings inside and out. Toilets are way nicer than mine at home and kept spotless! Yes you can hear the A628 but so nice to sit on a hilltop watching the slaves to 9-5 racing up and down while you can just chill to birdsong and rolling hills! The swallows are a sight to see and bats too. Good campfire wood sold in cardboard boxes which makes a pleasant change from the environmentally questionable orange net bags. Lovely walks from site and the waterfall is a 30 min walk and spectacular to see. Not that many level pitches - vans are ok with levelling ramps. The views at night are something to see too!

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site
Liked The site was spacious, well located; not too far from Manchester/Glossop, friendly staff and more than adequate facilities.
The supplied fire pit made out of an old washing machine drum was a great additional at only £10 for the pit and wood
Being surrounded by the farm animals was a very pleasant bonus!
