What customers say

Brook Farm: peaceful countryside escape, great walks. Large, level pitches. Friendly owners. Basic facilities (portaloos, no showers/washing-up), but clean. Some found it pricey for what's on offer if not after a back-to-basics stay.

Liked This our second visit to this quite and relaxed site, we love that there are limited facilities but what is there is spotless and that it generally has similar guests as ourselves - more mature couples.
There is not much for children to to apart from the field.

The walk to the pub at Clifton is quiet.

There are Red Kites around the area which was lovely to see

Liked Peaceful site. Lovely owner. Close to ashbourne

Disliked Toilet. It's a portacabin for both male and female, far from ideal.

From the manager: The site is advertised with a portaloo only.
If this is not acceptable then please do not book the site.

Liked The quiet field which was level and well kept, only 2 pitches incl our occupied. It had everything you need for back to basics stay. Decent walk into Ashbourne and then the bus back was ideal for us. Whilst toilet was a porta loo it was cleanest I’ve ever seen.

Local attractions

The Peak District National Park is quite simply a fab place to spend a few days roaming around on foot, on bikes, on horseback… If you can’t pick a place to start your explores, perhaps aim for the stepping stones across the valley at Dovedale (15 minutes’ drive), or set out on the Tissington Trail, which heads out of Ashbourne to wend its way along 13 miles of abandoned railway line. Much excellent wandering can also be done in the grounds of the area’s smart stately homes. Chatsworth (40 minutes) is a fab place to fill a whole day out: as well as the art-filled house and gorgeous gardens, there’s also a farmyard, a kids’ trail and a huge playground area. The National Trust’s Sudbury Hall (15 minutes) and Kedleston Hall (20 minutes) are mighty fine options too. If you love a good scream as you plummet earthwards on a rollercoaster, a day out at Alton Towers (20 minutes) is a must on the schedule. For somewhat gentler family days out, try an animal encounter at Peak Wildlife Park (15 minutes) or a steam-driven ride on the Churnet Valley Railway (20 minutes).
