Electric optional gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Le Courtil Rose is ~20 mins’ drive from the Eurotunnel in Calais and we used it as a great first stop after coming over from Folkestone. It’s mainly used for static homes but has a few, fully-serviced campingvan/motorhome pitches. Facilities are mixed use and not heated but adequate. Washing up, and washing machine facilities, as well as rubbish bins and grey water disposal are available.Site is secure with barrier during the night. The site itself is by a canal and a petrol station, including AdBlue pumps and a bakery is a five-minute drive from the campsite towards Calais. You get several friendly neighbourhood cockerels which may wake you, and keep you awake, early in the morning. However, this may also be an advantage, or not affect you at all. We arrived after 10 pm but we phoned the owner, who spoke English, opened the barrier for us.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Large pitches and very quiet. Facilities quite basic but very clean and adequate. We stayed mid September 2024 and there were only three pitches taken up. There was a field for walking our dog, which was handy.
Disliked Whilst it's lovely that this campsite is quite secluded down narrow country lanes, it isn't easy to walk anywhere like a pub or village (or maybe it is and we just couldn't work it out).

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked great location, felt like in the middle of nowhere with great views over the valley;
lots of animals across site (which is a working farm): dogs, ducks, goats,...;
facilities (toilets, showers, washing up) basic but perfectly adequate;
lovely ancient walk to the next village;
not far to touristy sites in that part of the Lake District;
BBQ's provided (you need to buy the wood from the farm);
Disliked no electric hook-up, but wasn't a problem;

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked lovely protected site in the former walled garden of the estate;
we were able to walk around the grounds at any time;
pitches were all hard-standing with electric hook-up; all also fairly level;
could turn up any time and choose a pitch;
very close to Berwick-upon-Tweed and to Northumberland National Park;
Disliked only two "bathrooms" (with shower, toilet and wash basin) available for whole site, and only one of the showers worked (and this didn't work all the time);
no washing-up facility;

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked VERY good facilities (heated shower block, laundry room, washing up room, the usual waste disposal points), very clean with radio!
A very good site to explore the Cotswolds from and do drive into Cirencester (which is lovely).
Two dog walking areas.
Small shop on site.
Nice, well-maintained, level pitches.
Disliked Not in a beautiful spot and with quite a noisy road next to it.

Large electric included tent or campervan pitch electric grass campervan or tent pitch
Liked The young couple running it were very friendly and helpful. We hired a fire pit for the weekend which worked out well. Sanitary facilities were individual cubicles containing basin, shower and toilet and were kept very clean. Dog walking area was large with some dog toys.
Disliked No shade from trees in the camping/motorhome field, but as it wasn't too hot it wasn't a problem.
