Albion Farm Yurt

Lovely, spacious, private yurt. Ideal to get away from it all!

Sept 2024

Liked The yurt is completely private with no properties overlooking it. It is spacious, clean and has everything you need for a self catering holiday. The bed is very comfortable. Some wood is provided for the Woodfired hot tub, open fire and log burner (extra wood is available to buy from the host or village shop), candles and lanterns are provided for lighting at night, there are also solar lights on the outside of yurt decking. The hot tub is spacious (plenty of room for 2 adults, would probably fit 3) and getting in at night after a long day exploring was bliss! We loved the large table to sit at outside to eat or watch the stars at night. The bathroom is only a few meters away from the yurt and has electricity, it was also very clean and spacious. There is a fabulous village shop around a 15 minute walk away which is very well stocked and also two pubs within walking distance that do food (we didn't eat at either but did have a drink). The host was very friendly and responsive to messages but not intrusive in any way.

Disliked We didnt really dislike anything! The only issue i would say we had is the hot tub does take around 2.5-3 hours to heat once you light the fire (we aren't experienced fire lighters!), and it's a full time job keeping on top of adding wood to the fire to keep it going. You do need to use quite a lot of wood to get it to the correct temperature (we spent around £50 on wood/kindling/firelighters for the hot tub and the wood burner inside the yurt over a 3 night stay and we were out most of the time, your first basket of logs are free, kiln dried logs are then £10 a bag from the host or £8.50 from the village shop). We arrived around 5.30pm on our first night and didn't manage to get in the tub until around 10pm so it would be a great idea for the host to ask if we wanted to get in the tub on arrival and for the host to light the fire to start the heating process. This is only a small issue but would have made the stay even better!

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. We really appreciate your feedback on the hot tub and the length of time it takes to heat it. You are right - the initial heating up of the water takes longer than the following nights, as it tends to retain its heat a bit for the following evening. We could definitely get the wood burner going for the hot tub if we know that guests are arriving a bit later and are wanting to use it on their first evening. Last summer was our first season of having the hot tub, so that is very helpful. :)

Camping pod was very clean and…

Aug 2023

Liked Camping pod was very clean and deceptively spacious, beds were reasonably comfortable, shower and toilet facilities close by. Good size pool and entertainment venue, lovely park.

Disliked Showers and toilets were often very dirty and wet, to be expected with camping but more cleaning is definitely necessary.

A lovely site with plenty of space, nice staff and adequate facilities

May 2021

Liked Loads of space, pitches spaced well, fire pits with kindling to buy for a very reasonable price, spacious bell tent, beds reasonably comfortable. The wardens were very friendly. We had a great time spending time together as a family which doesn't happen very often due to our busy lives. Plenty of space for washing up, there was a swing and a small climbing frame. 10 minutes away from folly farm and 15 minutes from the beach. Co-op, a chip shop and an Indian within walking distance (around 25 minutes), or a 5 minute drive. Showers and toilets dated but clean and tidy, no queues even though the site was quite busy. Plug socket in bathroom for hairdryers etc. Hand sanitiser available, felt very safe.

Disliked Nothing major, we would happily stay again! A communal freezer to put ice packs in would be helpful but not essential.
