Liked Fantastic location with incredible views Absolutely brilliant pop-up campsite in a stunning location. The views across towards Coniston Water and the surrounding fells are fantastic, and being right at the foot of the Old Man of Coniston makes it an ideal base if you're planning on getting out walking. The site itself is deliberately quite basic, which suited us perfectly. There are portable toilets but no showers or electric hook-up, so it's worth coming prepared. We actually liked the simplicity of it. It feels much more like proper camping rather than staying on an overly developed holiday park. The location also lends itself brilliantly to astrophotography thanks to the dark skies and lack of light pollution. We landed incredibly lucky on the night we stayed, with beautifully clear skies, and the stars were absolutely incredible. It made sitting outside later in the evening genuinely memorable. Our host was lovely as well and came over to check on us in the morning, which was a genuinely nice touch. We ended up having a proper conversation that felt sincere and natural rather than the usual forced small talk you sometimes get. It really added to the whole experience and made us feel very welcome. There was plenty of space to set up and just enjoy the surroundings, particularly in the evening when the views really come into their own. Coniston is also only a short distance away if you need supplies or fancy heading into the village. Would definitely stay here again. If you want somewhere peaceful, scenic and straightforward with one of the best backdrops you could ask for when camping in the Lakes, this is a cracking spot.

Liked We had a really enjoyable stay at Church Lane Campsite and would happily return. The campsite had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and was a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Everything appeared well looked after, and it was clear that plenty of effort goes into making sure guests have an enjoyable stay. The team were helpful throughout without being intrusive. We had hoped to try the pizzas, but unfortunately they had already sold out by the time we went to order. That was entirely our own fault for not being quick enough, especially as they were clearly very popular. The pizzas we saw looked and smelled absolutely fabulous, with generous toppings and a really good size to them. We will definitely be getting our order in much earlier next time and will probably be ordering one or two! A lovely campsite with a welcoming team, a relaxed atmosphere and pizzas that are obviously worth ordering before they sell out.

Liked I stayed at Ridge Fold Campsite for just one night and absolutely loved it! The location is peaceful, scenic, and beautifully maintained. My pitch was spacious and well-kept, with plenty of room to relax. The facilities were spotless and clearly well looked after. The owner (Jane) was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Even though it was a short stay, it was the perfect little escape – quiet at night, with gorgeous views in the morning. I'll definitely be coming back for a longer visit next time!
