Liked The hostel building looked beautiful and the location is great.

Disliked Our 3-day reservation with the required deposit to tent camp was cancelled by the facility on the day we were supposed to arrive. The reason we were given was because of the weather. We were able to find a different place to stay that was right across the road, and thus we were able to see where we would've been camping. The ground looked fine. I believe they were just at the end of the season and didn't want to bother with having just us, even though there were also guests inside the hostel. In my opinion they should've honored our reservation.

From the manager: Dear Robin, Our campsite is located adjacent to a river. The weather forecast was for heavy rains, which we feared might cause a flood in the river. We therefore decided to close our campsite for your safety and comfort. Yes, it was a last-minute decision, because we kept hoping the forecast would change, but we knew you will find an alternative campsite nearby. We refunded your Pitchup deposit as promised. I wish for you that you will never have to deal with the worry and uncertainty we face every time a storm is forecasted. Best regards, Hostel team

Liked We loved our pitch site in the woods. It was large and flat, and at night it was completely dark. The only noises we heard were from the owls. There were trees between each pitch and you could get quite far from other campers. It felt like we were camping on our own land. We also loved how close the campsite was to a number of fantastic trails for day hikes as well as to go in to the village.

Disliked The sink drains in the bathroom need to be cleaned out. Water was backing up in them. The campsite fee was higher than others in the area, but we felt it was worth it.
