Bell tent (no pets)
Liked Lovely simple but very comfortable campsite. All the basics you need are provided and lovely hosts.
-Loved the (free) top up of firewood each day
-Loved how quiet and peaceful it was
-The views of the stars and moon (when it wasn’t cloudy) were stunning

Alders Edge bell tent
Liked Beautiful site , peaceful, clean and such gracious hosts. Shirley and her husband were on hand with anything we needed including an ice pack for my daughter and a much appreciated change of tire when we woke up to find a flat tyre this morning (just as we were leaving!)
Highlights include:
- beautiful river/ beck with their friendly cows greeting us in the morning
- hot shower and composte toilet that was always emptied and clean (we stayed in the bell tent so this was private)
- ANYTHING we could have needed for camping from cooking equipment to kids books and toys to the fluffiest blankets to keep warm at night
- the best views and stars at night which were the perfect accompaniment to the fire pit
Overall 10/10 and we hope to come back again!
Location is also perfect for exploring the Lake District. We were glad to stay out of the busy Windermere area but were close enough to get there and the surrounding area with ease. Thank you so much for everything :)
Disliked Nothing at all.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Everything! The site is in a quiet part of Cornwall (but our favourite part). Next to Boscastle farm shop which has the best bakes (the apple pie is incredible) and walks in the area in my opinion. Clean enough toilets and shower which were only ever dirty if the person before didn’t clean up after themselves (boo!) . Water in the showers was always hot and had good pressure. The site has a good washing up room with handy small fridge/ freezer. We loved that you can choose your pitch and we chose somewhere with a great view of the sea and cows next door! I would recommend higher ground in case of rain and we chose to pitch at the top of the hill which was smooth and no lumpy ground underneath us. The walk to the toilets was manageable even with a toddler and 5 year old. We did not see the owners much but staff were very friendly when we did bump into them. Always someone around to check on the site/ bins which is nice. We loved being able to bbq and have a fire-pit under the stars - definitely one of the highlights. The food van that came had excellent chips (we didn’t try anything else) and was a nice treat. We would definitely come back again and our kids didn’t want to leave despite some heavy rain and winds the first couple of nights!
Disliked Nothing. If I was being super picky I would say some more charging plugs/ place to straighten my hair would have been perfect as only one plug for the campsite. However this did not impact our stay just a bonus that would have been valued.
