Electric grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The location; it’s very quiet and only 15 min. walk to village Hanmere, lake and a dog friendly pub that serve food. Lovely owners. Spacious pitch. Good internet connection
Disliked Had to wait a couple of times to be able to use bathroom as there’s only one shower.

From the manager: Sorry that there was disturbance in the camp. I did go around the site at 10 pm as that is the curfew time on radios- they turned it off then when asked. PS there is a second shower which is in a shed behind the main block- very spacious.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Beautiful, quiet and peaceful site with just cows, grass, trees and a hill to sit on and watch the sunset. Eco toilet well kept. Lovely pub at 10min. walk in pittoresk village. Lots to do in the area, such as the Roman Villa, a beautiful village, nearby towns and gardens.
Disliked There was no hot water during our stay so no shower either. It was fixed on the Tuesday that we left.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Quiet, peaceful location. Simple but clean facilities. Dog friendly and there is a small pub nearby. Lots of walking opportunities from campsite.
Disliked Toilets and shower can be locked from inside so if someone would lock themselves in, no one else can use any of the facilities.

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked Good showers, clean. Spacious and level pitches. Nice dog field to exercise dog (but there is a sign they have to be on lead, which makes not much sense when throwing a ball around). Close to town and big stores.
Disliked Noise from the road albeit not too bad during the night. Not enough showers and toilets; this can be an issue during high season.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Adults only, amazing views, walks, dog friendly, pub at crawling distance and the silence. All you can hear is some agricultural vehicles and planes coming over. Star gazing till early hours. Nice to see people enjoying nature.
Disliked Could do with dog waste bins maybe and another shower/toilet

Electric grass tent pitch (large)
Liked Spacious pitch. Beautiful area for walks Dog friendly and lovely staff. Little bar and shop for essentials. Lots of water stations. Kids seemed to really enjoy themselves in the forest.
Disliked Toilets and showers are very simple, and could really do with some hooks/shelves to put your stuff.

Orchard electric grass tent pitch (two person)
Liked Lovely, quiet, small and simple campsite, well maintained and great views at the front. Nice clean showers and toilet block. Dog friendly.
Disliked It is an operational sheep farm so some nights there was, as expected noise from sheep. Separation recycling is not offered locally so we took ours home.

From the manager: So glad you enjoyed your stay and we were able to accommodate you for some extra extended nights' stay. You would think with sheep being made of all that fluffy wool, it would muffle the noise they make, ha, ha, ha. Thanks for taking your recycling waste home, but as we explain to all our guests on the campsite and holiday cottages, we do have cardboard and paper recycling separation, and the rest of the waste goes into the large general bin. This is then taken away and fully separated and recycled by our waste carrier at their centre. We would love to have separate waste receptacles here at Irton House, but being in the countryside, our local authority does not support waste recycling at all, so we pay for a private contractor to fulfil this requirement now. Thanks for the feedback and great review.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked There is nothing to do but relax, have a nice drink/meal in the pub and explore the area. Heavenly quiet. Lovely local people come from where ever to enjoy this quirky place. The sound of water in the little stream during the night, owls... lovely!
Disliked Albeit quite clean the toilet and shower facilities are really a bit limited/ One shower for ladies, one for men. From the tents field you will really have a bit of a walk to the toilets.. During the bank holiday weekend the pub was extremely busy, I don't know how the staff coped, it was very chaotic (but every body was still friendly).

Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Vet available to come to the pitch if needed. Nice view and location. Plenty of shade. Lovely short walk to village and castle to enjoy the Dordonge, shops and bars/restaurants.
Disliked Not our preferred style of campsite due to super busy with young families but that's high season to blame only. No toilet paper provided at high season.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Completely dogfriendly. Lovely atmosphere, just families with young children, plenty of space in the field (no electric here) and playing in the stream. Good showers.
Disliked The showers need a good clean and painting. There should really be some soap/dispenser near the taps in the toilets.
