Non-electric grass tent pitch (large, woodland)
Liked Quiet, spacious, private, woodland! A tiny, joyous retreat in the White Peak
But shhhh don't tell everyone!
Disliked Some minor traffic noise from trucks, but after hours all you can hear is the wind in the trees

Liked Stella is a warm, kind generous human.
Unfortunately I was unable to stay the night but Stella treated me with kindness and compassion when I turned up unexpectedly to cancel the booking. The site looked lovely and the food smells coming from the kitchen smelled divine! I will definitely be back!

Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked What a find! A lovely quiet campsite set well away from the noisy Lincolnshire roads, yet only half an hour into Lincoln City centre.
Nice large pitches in a field on the owners smallholding. Excellent bathroom facilities and spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water and a large washing up sink.
Sue and Fred are very lovely hosts, chatty but not intrusive, the animals are also lovely!
Excellent cycling from the door, especially if you like gravel riding. Only a few km from the Water Rail trail and from the endless bridleways on the Wolds.
Fantastic stay!

Cox Common, Suffolk, England
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Quiet site, level pitches, very clean, great shop, lots of local info, good shower, close to pub and short walk to station, near cycle routes.
Disliked Although it was quiet when we stayed, if all 9 pitches had been booked it would feel crowded
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review! Pitches are large with plenty of space between and even at peak season there is a lovely atmosphere and never over crowded. Guests who prefer it very quiet are advised to avoid July and August when there are more families and children xxx Thank you for staying and hope to see you again! Best wishes, Sallyx

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked If you like your campsite so quiet you can hear the rustle of a mouse in a nearby hedge, then Oatcroft is the place for you! On arrival Philip (the farmer) showed us to a choice of pitches, each remote, beautiful and unique. We chose one right on the top of the hill, sheltered by trees. With reaching views down to the Black Mountains, we couldn't see anything man made. Yet Philip had provided a water supply and a portaloo for our sole use. He came to check everything was ok every morning and would chat about farming, the local area and gave us lots of ideas for things to do.
There's lots of walks around the area and we enjoyed cycling around the Black and White Villages nearby. The Stagg Inn in the village does great meals and is very friendly
I really couldn't have stayed anywhere nicer. Yes, its basic, it won't suit if you want mod cons, but the peace and tranquility was the perfect antidote to a stressful couple of years.
