In Utah at the intersection of Highway 191 and Highway 128, the resort's surrounding Moab region has a megasaurus amount of dinosaur remains, with trails, dinosaur tracks and museums easily uncovered too – along with over 100 life-sized dinos on the trail at Moab Giants Dinosaur Park.
Don't dig dinosaurs? The resort's spectacular rock-surrounded setting a couple of miles from the town of Moab is within easy reach of the Arches and Canyonlands national parks, for activities such as kayaking, offroad adventuring and guided hiking tours. Rock climbing, cycling, golf, skydiving, wine tasting and rafting are also available in the area. More peacefully, the scenery around here has been the set for dozens of films including Indiana Jones, Star Trek and Thelma and Louise: film buffs, bring your camera.

Local attractions
The city of Moab two miles from the park is a top summer destination for adventure seekers, who come to hike, climb, cycle and kayak the nearby Arches and Canyonlands national parks, three and 20 miles away. Mountain biking is popular around the Slickrock Trail, one of hundreds of mountain bike tracks in the area.
Plenty more outdoor activities are easy to get to around here: you could go kayaking or whitewater rafting on the Colorado River; nerve yourself to try slacklining (the world record for long highlines was created around Moab) or paragliding, or tear around the extreme 4x4 terrain at the Sand Flats Recreation Area, among others. Get info on it all and book trips at the Moab Adventure Center, three miles from the resort.
In town, the Museum of Moab's exhibits on the local geology, archaeology and more is a good option for a restful afternoon, or you could just mooch about with your camera: Moab's been used as the location for dozens of famed films over the decades.
Further afield, you can reach Moab Golf Club in eight miles, Spanish Valley Vineyards & Winery in seven miles and Castle Creek Winery in 15, and both the Canyonlands National Park and the Dead Horse Point State Park in 30 miles.
And then, the dinosaurs… Drive ten miles from the resort to find the Moab Giants Dinosaur Park, a big family park with life-sized dinos, an interactive museum, dinosaur trail and indoor and outdoor play.
