  • Secluded tipi with a private hot tub among woods, meadows and brooks
  • On a four-hectare estate 10 minutes' drive from Undrom
  • Woodburning stove, firepit, breakfast, bathrobes and bedding provided
From the nation that brought you Abba, flatpack furniture and Scandi style comes a new kid on the block: Fields Sweden, a gorgeous site in the Västernorrland region for digital detoxing sans electricity and internet... and in a tipi with an outdoor hot tub. Sounds splendid, jah? There’s more: this secluded slice of nature is set within woods, meadows and brooks on a four-hectare estate home to sheep and horses... as well as rabbits available to cuddle in the site's cosy barn with sofas. It's 10 minutes' drive from the Västernorrland County village of Undrom and just over an hour from Skuleskogen National Park and its Baltic Sea coastline. And the accommodation is fairly splendid too. The tipi tent sits on a wooden platform with a double bed and two singles, as well as a woodburning stove to ward off any chill. Towels, bedding, pots, silverware and drinking glasses are all provided. If it’s cold and the stars are out, dunk yourself in the hot tub then shrug on the provided bathrobe and get the firepit blazing to grill up some eats; a potluck dinner is available to buy if you don’t fancy cooking and breakfast is included in the mornings. The site’s owners will take care of the dishes, which are provided with the tipi, and you’ll have your other H2O needs sorted by them as well (the grounds have no running water, so owners Nicole and Marco bring fresh water to guests every day). An eco-friendly toilet is steps from the tipi and a shower is accessible in the owners’ Fields Gård home, along with a fridge and freezer to store food. And if you’re having wifi cravings while going cold turkey? Phones can be charged and internet used in the house.

Local attractions

If the idea of a little Swedish-brewed whisky to indulge in sounds intriguing, head over to High Coast Distillery (25 minutes' drive) and try the offerings in the country’s first single-malt distillery. Rather get active than tipsy? Hallstaberget’s the spot for skiing, 35 minutes away, while the Österåsens Hälsohem health resort has walks to wander off on (within a 40-minute drive). History can be had at the Rock Art Museum Nämforsens Hällristningsmuseum (55 minutes), while intrepid visitors could go off further on the ferry through the Gulf of Bothnia to Ulvön Island from the port at Köpmanholmen, also 55 minutes away. The Baltic Sea coastline of Skuleskogen National Park is an hour and five minutes, while seaside strolls are also possible at Rotsidan, a four-kilometre-long nature reserve beside the ocean an hour and 10 minutes’ drive away from Fields Sweden.
