- Lakeside site with summer fishing sand wimming
- Fishing equipment and boat rentals on site in high season
- Within 25km of skiing and snowmobiling at Vemdalsskalet and Björnrik
Just look at that lakeside setting. And you'll have views of the Sonfjället National Park from Sonfjällscampen in western Sweden too, and the means to hire fishing kit and boats, and to plunge into the lake from the waterside diving tower, or gallop off for forest hiking and cycling, or shoot along in the colder months to some snowmobiling, skiing and ice fishing…
As you might reckon from all the outdoor activity around it, Sonfjällscampen is a rural site. Its waterside setting is near the Jämtland village of Hedeviken, on a bay of Vikarssjön lake and in a land of coniferous forest and nature reserves. The lake has a safe swimming area available in summer, with jetties and a diving tower, and several top spots for fishing.
Bag fishing kit and boat rentals in high season at the Sonfjällscampen kiosk; all year round, there's a sauna in the main building, a kitchen for guests' use, and good amenities including toilets, showers, a drying room and a launderette.
Barbecues and campfires are allowed.

Local attractions
The lake around Sonfjällscampen is where you should spend most of your days if you're staying here in the summer months, swimming or landing fish in its depths, or climbing the jetty tower to dive far down into the water. Several fishing spots are in the surrounding area as well: ask the Sonfjällscampen team to point you and your bait in the right direction.
The Härjedalen Municipality surroundings of the site are mainly wilderness, so have heaps of prime places suitable for adventurers seeking serene hikes or bike rides. Try either in the Hede forest, about five kilometres away, or, within 10, hike among the bears, wolves and lynxes of Sonfjällets National Park, one of the oldest national parks in Europe.
More nature spotting, and marsh birdwatching, is at Storåsen nature reserve, also 10 kilometres away; a golf course is within the same distance, and skiing and snowshoeing are top picks at both Vemdalsskalet and Björnrike, 25 kilometres away.
