- Pop-up open 4 to 15 July 2019 during Pamplona's San Fermin festival
- Half an hour from Pamplona bull running and a week of street parties
- Shady, relaxed site in a riverside park; breakfast included
If it’s busy at San Fermin Glamping, blame Ernest Hemingway. Until he pitched up in Pamplona in 1923, the Running of the Bulls was a quiet local affair: nowadays, although just one of many bull- and cattle-barging spectacles around the world (they even used to do it in Lincolnshire…), Pamplona’s seven days of pandemonium are a global event.
Or part of a global event... Pamplona’s San Fermin Festival (hence the name of your comfortable pop-up site, half an hour away in a peaceful riverside park) is a week of day-long, night-long music, dance, food, booze, fireworks and party mayhem loved by locals of all ages and visitors from everywhere.
If you’re into bull chasing, here’s your moment, 8am every morning in the Old Town for a week; if not, you’ve got several hundred other hours to fill your boots with the best this massive party in Spain’s Navarre region can offer.
In a cool and shady park in the town of Mendigorria, for 10 days or so in July, the team behind this pop-up site are laying on a nylon village of comfortable berths for festival-goers, with inflatable mattresses and pillows, room for standing up, plus power and lighting.
Included in the price are breakfasts, a welcome drink, free wifi and unlimited access to the showers. For a bit extra they’ll take you into town every day and bring you back (could be handy, especially if you opt for the additional bottomless beer and sangria offer).

Local attractions
If you should fancy a break from the partying in Pamplona, there’s a chill-out area back at base, plus a big wooded park and river to wander round and down.
You can take things down a notch around Pamplona too if the pace is getting hectic: take a Segway tour of the town, visit the planetarium (especially spacey if you’ve been up all night…), bike through the lush riverside park or go go-karting.
This is also one of the best places in the world to work up an appetite: Basque food, and especially the bite-size pintxos snacks served up in bars (some free, all worth paying for) makes for five-star munchies: try the fish cheeks (yep), grilled foie gras with caramelised apple or the classic olive, pepper, anchovy combo on a cocktail stick (it beats cheese and pineapple…).
If you want to get right away from the city and the parties, it’s a 20-minute drive to Alloz reservoir, clean and serene and a top spot for windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding.
