Small, close to the sea and surrounded by the sweet smells of orange blossom… Orange Grove Camper Park is a lovely little place to park your motorhome for a Costa Blanca break. Set a little bit away from the main action (but within easy reach when you do fancy getting stuck in), this peaceful Alicante site is in between the town of L’Alfàs del Pi and the beach resort of Albir and less than a 10-minute drive from both. As the name suggests, this site is surrounded by orange fields, with some lovely routes available for those who would like to take a walk or bike ride through the Costa Blanca landscape. If you’re looking for rather more activity, there’s plenty of that around: fishing, tennis, horse riding, scuba diving and various watersports are all close by, and there are mountains not far inland for those who’d like an uphill challenge. If you fancy dipping into the world of big, colourful attractions instead, it’s a 15-minute drive to Benidorm where there’s plenty of fun to be had at the likes of Terra Mitica theme park and Aqualandia waterpark. If you’re spending time on site instead, you can take swims at the outdoor pool and/or cook up dinners at the communal barbecues. Dogs are welcome to join you at this site.

Grand value at this wee friendly spot. Clean loos, showers, pool. Level pitches. Handy for towns but a bit out of the way for some. Staff are brilliant and welcoming. A few minor quibbles about the shop and noise, but most folks loved it and want to come back.

Liked This site has to be my favourite. It’s cheap and has everything you need right outside your van.
Swimming pool, clean toilets and good showers, small shop, WiFi, laundry and good electric.

Disliked 30 minute walk into the town but we know about this.

Local attractions

Albir’s beach is likely to be your first port of call – it’s a lovely sandy stretch with plenty of seafront restaurants and bars to pick from. If you fancy getting out onto the sea, head down to Benidorm (15 minutes’ drive), which has a bunch of watersports to try out, or sorts scuba diving trips from the dive centre in Altea (10 minutes). While you’re down in Benidorm, you might like to check out some of its big attractions: Terra Mitica theme park, Aqualandia waterpark, Terra Natura wildlife park and the Mundomar marine park are all mighty popular around these parts. For something a little quieter, head inland for an art-filled wander around Klein-Schreuder Sculpture Garden (five minutes), a visit to the pretty village of La Nucia (10 minutes) or a hike to Algar waterfall (25 minutes). Another option for a day out is a trip to Alicante (40 minutes), where you can visit the castle, ride around on the trams and wander through cobbled streets picking at tapas as you go. It’s also the place for boat trips to Tabarca, a pretty island surrounded by a marine reserve.
