What a long list of (fab) facilities there is at family-friendly Camping Mas Patoxas on the Costa Brava: you'll be only five kilometres from the beach here and one kilometre from the village of Pals, but it might take you quite some time to get off site. The reasons for this are many: if it's a hot Spanish day (probably), you could chill out under the trees throughout the park, although most guests will make for the Mas Patoxas waterpark and pool complex first, with its big swimming pool and triple slide, a separate pool for toddlers and, once emerged, a roomy grass sunbathing area to take drinks to from the summer bar. A couple of excellent extra touches here are donkeys, ponies, goats and other animals at the small farm for the kids to coo at, and the massage sessions available right on site: pool followed by massage followed by cocktail followed by sunbathe – sí. Entertainment runs throughout high season, alongside indoor and outdoor games for kids and grownups, football pitches, volleyball and tennis courts, fitness and games rooms, a disco room and a pétanque area. Kids have a play area to get busy at and a kids' club in the summer months. Food is, of course, thoroughly sorted too: the restaurant has a varied menu at decent prices, and a supermarket stocked with all sorts is open throughout the season. And when you're (finally) ready to get off site and explore the surrounds, you can hire a bike from the Camping Mas Patoxas team: you'll likely find the surrounding area pretty fab too.

Liked A choice of 2 large pools easily accommodating a large site. Friendly staff always welcoming and on hand to help.
Clean toilet facilities.

Disliked Extremely vast site.
Having to rely on infrequent transport to get into Pals. The bus schedule was on time but the buses are few in the day. We didn’t research this enough.
Very loud music until 5.30am - this was one night but enough to put us off coming again.
Food from restaurant was not worth the prices paid.
Entertainment schedule needs reviewing.

Liked Ideal para familia con niños, lugar muy tranquilo y limpio. Muchas actividades para niños y adultos. Las noches son fresquitas y se duerme muy bien.

Disliked El supermercado y la rostiseria los encuentro un poco caros. El WIFI no llega a todo el camping, de todos modos un poco de desconexión va bien.

Liked Las piscinas están muy bien porque hay 2 ambientes separados,una para personas que quieren descansar y tener tumbonas y la otra zona con piscina de juegos con toboganes y chorros de agua para los más pequeños.
Animación todos los días.

Disliked Subimos plaga de hormigas desde el primer día y nos quejamos cada día porque estaban por toda la móvil home (encima de las camas,paredes,dentro armarios,cocina,baño...)
Íbamos con 2 niñas pequeñas y lo pasaban muy mal cuando las veían en sus camas,ropas y peluches.
No podíamos deshacer maletas porque estaban por dentro armarios y toda la alimentación en bolsas...fue horrible y no nos daban solución ni nos cambiaron de sitio habiendo muchas móvil home vacías,solo echaban spray por fuera. Al final el 4 día de tanto quejarnos fumigaron por fuera,eso las disminuyó un poco,pero iban apareciendo.

Local attractions

Camping Mas Patoxas is a kilometre from the medieval town of Pals, set on a hilltop a few kilometres from the sea in the Bay of Emporda. Essential sights are its Torre de les Hores, the medieval Romanesque tower started in the 11th century, and the cobbled streets, façades and four 14th-century towers of the restored Gothic quarter. Several towns and villages are within a few kilometres to take a look at: Begur and its castle, the ruins of the city of Empúries at La Escala, the seaside resort of Estartit, the coastal town of Torroella de Montgrí, and the town of La Bisbal d'Empordà, the county seat of the Baix Empordà comarca. And you'll probably also want a day or several at a Costa Brava beach or several… The long golden sands of Pals are five kilometres away, or you could have a watersports day among the kayaking, windsurfing, surfing, sailing and waterskiing around the small beaches of Begur.
