Toss vehicular keys into the depths of your bag if you're having a Spanish stay at Santa Susanna's Camping El Pinar Platja, for it's right across from the train station with regular journeys to the seaside resorts of the Catalonian coast. And it's a short stroll from the Costa Maresme beach of Santa Susanna too...
Camping El Pinar Platja has an outdoor pool, open when the site is, for leisurely dips in between days of sandy and city sightseeing. There's also info on car rental, local tours, and where to access the best watersports and kit. Free wifi is available.
This is a supremely safe and secure site, as it's all lit and monitored at night, and the entrance to the beach opposite is locked so that only guests and staff are on site. The modern amenities blocks have free hot water and a laundry room is available for guests' use.
Also around for your convenience is a handsome bar-café: buzz in here for coffee of a morning before going via the train station for a spot of city exploring: Girona is about half an hour away and Barcelona within 65 kilometres.

Local attractions
Santa Susanna is a beach resort with bars, restaurants, cafés and a long sea promenade running along its beach; if you're around in summer, a trip to the market is a spiffing idea too.
Travelling out of town, both Blanes and Lloret de Mar are popular Costa Brava seaside stops on this stretch of Catalonian coast, the former for the Mar i Murtra and other botanical gardens along with its summer fireworks display, and the latter for the medieval Castle of Sant Joan and the view from the clifftop gardens of Santa Clotilde. Both towns have excellent stretches of long sandy beach.
Take a train to Girona to see its medieval centre, Old Quarter, cathedral, city walls and much more (at least two days should be had in this fab city) and to Barcelona, fab home of several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, museums, the Arc de Triomf and the magnif cathedral.
