Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Plenty of open sunny space available to us on arrival -we were free to choose our own pitch. Good clean toilet & shower facilities in relatively new block. Lovely mountain setting with great views on the approach.

Disliked: Owner was unfriendly and the site had an almost eerie abandoned feel to it with a lot of permanently pitched tourers with shabby awnings. Apart from one 2-man tent we were the only visitors. There were also literally hundreds of noisy motorbikes on the road to/from the site.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: The area was very quite if you wanted a remote holiday.

Disliked: No toilet paper or hand washing facilities. No restaurant expect 8.30pm to 9.30pm and bar until 10pm. It was a holiday. Too remote 16 km from the main road. No local village/town/city it was in the middle of nowhere. The ground was water logged. We booked 3 nights but only stayed for 2. I would not recommend to my enemy. Sorry but your write up is totally incorrect as the pitches in the centre of the site were all taken up with permanent tents. Really disappointing.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Spotless facilities. Good washing-up area, clothes washing area, and drying rack. Plenty of hot water. My husband dealt with reception - they were friendly and welcoming. We didn’t visit the bar/restaurant. Lots of good walks in the area.

Disliked: No loo roll in toilets - you had to estimate the amount you needed and take from the dispenser before entering a cubicle! No soap or hand drying at sinks. Lights on a timer which made showering interesting. Inadequate screening from shower so risk of clothes getting splashed. Shower heads need cleaned. Pitches on a slope, and very boggy. Electric point was 35m away from our pitch - luckily we had enough cable to reach. Lots of statics on site, none of which looked cared for - an overall depressing vibe.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: The setting is incredible. There are the most amazing mountain views. The toilet/shower/wash block is in very good condition and kept very clean.

Disliked: The ground is very uneven. We were there in February and it was also soaked. There were only two usable pitches on the day we arrived.Every other one was too muddy to park in. Our campervan was getting stuck. The site is full of unoccupied motorhomes and caravans (in the winter season). But the sites are tightly packed. The owner is unpleasant and gruff. There are lots of amazing walks in the area, but no information about them and difficult to access from the site. There is another campsite in Gavín a short drive away and near walks and a great town (Biescas) that is worth driving on to instead. If the owners could even out the pitches and sort out the drainage this would be worth it. As it is, it is very costly for what is on offer.

Local attractions

Mountain biking, bungee jumping (if you dare), horse riding, paragliding, canyoning, rafting and canoeing are all available in the area along with the walking trails, bike rides, waterfalls and spectacular scenery of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. The valleys and towns of Bujaruelo and Otal are 30 and 40 minutes' drive away. Around the site's Sobrarbe region, have a day out at district capital Boltaña to see its mountaintop 11th-century castle and the Aragonese Gothic and 16th-century Collegiate Church of San Pedro, one of the biggest churches in this part of the Pyrenees. Venturing further, another 11th-century castle is at Ainsa (an hour and 15 minutes), along with a 12th-century church, a handsome main square and the House of Culture, home to the biggest library in the Aragonese Pyrenees. For towns and culture, try the Romanesque churches of the villages of the Serrablo (40 minutes), the jolly pretty town of Jaca and its medieval walls (50 minutes) and the monastery of San Juan de la Peña with its church partly carved into the cliff, an hour and 15 minutes away.
