The splendid views from Camping Alto de Viñuelas have been raved about aplenty by previous guests: in a landscaped wildlife haven shaded by fruit and olive trees, the site looks out over the spectacular Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s in a most handy spot for visiting Granada too, with a stop right outside served by a bus that takes a mere 25 minutes to reach the city. Friendly staff are on hand to book tickets on your behalf for the spectacular palace and fortress complex of Alhambra, and will also happily point out where in the city you need to catch the bus back to base. The park is simple but well set out, with an outdoor swimming pool and sun deck for catching some rays. When a wander off site for supplies takes your fancy, head down the hill toward the local town of Beas de Granada (five minutes’ drive), which has two small but well-stocked supermarkets from which to pick up bits and pieces to barbecue back at base, plus a friendly local bar that serves tapas shating plates and drinks. On Sunday afternoons, a van selling rotisserie chicken and fries is in the town square.

Liked The area of the site, such beautiful scenery. Pitch size good, showers and wc clean. Local town Beas de Granada has a lovely bar. The pool looked nice but didn't get chance to use

Disliked The electronic light in the shower turned off and wasn't able to wave at them from the shower so had to finish in the dark. Reception said it was a 10 minute walk to Beas but more like 25mins to the bar. Coming back very steep but the owner of the bar very kindly gave is a lift. There was a large dog walking around the campsite late at night, made me a little nervous that he would get on our awning. No bar or restaurant

Liked Tolle Lage mit wunderschöner Aussicht auf das Gebirge. Sehr gute Anbindung an Granada, unmittelbar am Platz fährt der Bus in die Stadt.Der Pool ist sehr schön und angenehm nach einem Tag Sightseeing.

Disliked Etwas mehr Pflege täte dem Gesamteindruck sehr gut. Bei nur drei Toiletten, ist einmal reinigen am Tag einfach viel zu wenig.

Busverbinding iets moeilijker tijdens het weekend. Zondag slechts 3 bussen!!

Liked Schöner Stellplatz mit einer fantastischen Aussicht auf die Sierra Nevada. Sanitäranlagen sauber, Pool war sauber und ordentlich. Mit dem Bus ca. eine halbe Stunde nach Granada, die Bushaltestelle befindet sich direkt vor dem Stellplatz.

Disliked Nur jeweils drei Duschen. Die Stellplätze sind eng und man muss zum Parken schon etwas rumkurbeln. Die Stellplätze bestehen aus festem Schotter, der ziemlich staubig war, so dass man den Dreck immer mit reinträgt. Der komplette Stellplatz ist in Terrassen angelegt.

Local attractions

Walks and cycling routes are available directly from the site, such as the one between Beas and Granada, with some of the area’s most stunning views over the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The narrow ravines, steep cliffs, natural springs and deep dark caves of the Sierra de Huétor Natural Park are an easy 20-minute amble away too. If you’re handy on a bike – or fancy a three-hour hike – the park’s most renowned spring, Fuente Grande, is around 12 kilometres away, and is so famed as its waters were transported by the Moors to Granada’s Albaicín palace… which is also an excellent spot for a sightsee, and accessed via a 25-minute bus ride that picks guests up from right outside the site. If you’re planning on having a car on your holidays, a trip should most certainly be made to the Cueva del Agua, which can be reached in about 40 minutes.
