Stand by for action – the gorgeous Gorenjska region is packed with outdoorsy activities and the friendly folk at ECO River Camp, six kilometres from Radovljica, are on hand to help you get stuck in. Rafting, horse riding, kayaking, canyoning or gliding over the greenery on a hot air balloon or paragliding trip: chat with the reception team and they’ll get them set up for you. Seeking a bit more serenity? No worries – intrepid outings aren't mandatory. The site’s equally well set up for days of chilling out, perhaps stretching your legs on a local walking trail or selecting a suitable spot by the Sava river for fishing, paddling or just daydreaming… Sightseeing’s pretty straightforward too: Lake Bled is a 15-minute drive away, the Triglav National Park is just beyond it, and lovely Ljubljana is just over half an hour from the site. It is possible to charge your devices here, and there are fridges in the kitchen and reception that guests are free to use. For extra eco points, it's easy to get here by train (Globoko station is a five-minute stroll away) and the team can hook you up with bike rental nearby.

Liked: Clean showers and toilets. Nice location by a large river.

Disliked: Really unpleasant and totally unprovoked attitude from the staff (a lady). Also, there is no one at the reception for a good part of the day. It is definitely an overpriced place for what it has to offer with some utterly ridiculous "eco" touches... for example signs all over the place how "water is our most precious resource" and how it should be conserved and used sparingly, when the place is situated on the banks of a huge river and every drop used returns to it. All in all, we are not coming back.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: On site food from a caravan. Nice gazebo area to chill and staff helpful. Saw very little of the site as arrived in bad weather and left the next morning in bad weather.

Disliked: Address WRONG!!! we spent best part of an hour trying to find the site. Another site some 5-6 miles away helped and made phone calls to assist us. Not Good at dusk in pouring rain and a thunderstorm!

Liked: Nette Betreiber, alles unproblematisch und super. Plätze groß genug und alles da, was man braucht.

Disliked: Hatten sehr viel Regen und somit alles voller Schlamm.

Liked: Everything. We've travelled around Europe a fair amount and this is one of our favourite sites. Rex's bar has a great vibe. Staff very helpful as well 🙂

Liked: Die Lage ist sehr gut, ruhig und gut für Entspannung. Für die Sauberkeit gebe ich 5 Sterne. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Stellplätze groß und eben.

Disliked: Ein Lebensmittelgeschäft ist nicht in der Nähe.

Liked: Tutto! Il posto è meraviglioso situato sulle rive del fiume Sava. Tranquillo, pulito ma soprattutto con un attenzione agli spazi comuni veramente scrupolosa. La sera potersi godere una birra (C'è un food truck) attorno al fuoco, sotto lo stelle rende tutto più bello. Cucina in comune dotata di tutto quello che serve.
P.s. le colazioni al mattino che servono sono ottime

Liked: Ambiente molto pulito, personale cordiale e gentile, ospiti rispettosi e locazione magnifica, bellissimo anche il fuoco davanti al bar dove spesso tutti si riunivano la sera.

Local attractions

It's worth scheduling an extensive stay here, for on top of all the alfresco activities there are lots of other days out nearby. Start your sojourn with a visit to Radovljica (10 minutes' drive) to meander through its medieval Old Town, take in its art gallery and beekeeping museum and fuel up for adventures ahead at the gingerbread workshop, where you can watch the traditional treats being crafted before you devour them. Lake Bled, 15 minutes away by car, is well worth a day out: hike or bike your way round the whole thing on a six-kilometre paved path, taking detours to clamber up to viewpoints or Bled Castle, or to scream down the toboggan run. A dip in the lake and a slice of Bled cream cake await at the end of your endeavours. Ljubljana’s also easily doable on a day trip; board a train and you can be there in less than an hour to see the famed castle and Triple Bridge, wander through the pretty streets and sip coffee by the river.
