- Well-maintained, organised site in rural northern Serbia
- A 10-minute from Kovilj Monastery; Novi Sad 20 minutes
- Hot meals, coffee shop and wireless internet access
Set a few hundred metres from Serbia's main north-south highway, Coffeecamp Kovilj is popular with gourmet guests, who can take advantage of the site's tasty Thai and European-style lunches and dinners. As the name implies, there's also a coffee shop here serving a tasty range of hot drinks, as well as thousands of square metres of space where holidaymakers young and old can relax and unwind.
The enthusiastic staff at this well-organised site speak several languages, which comes in handy given the many different nationalities that pass through here on their way to and from Hungary, Turkey or other Balkan destinations. Long-distance tourers will appreciate this peaceful spot as an opportunity to break their journey – made easier by express check-in and check-out – but there are also ample reasons to stick around and explore local highlights like Kovilj's Orthodox monastery and nature reserve.
Whatever kind of stay brings you here, you'll find it easy to keep in touch with family and friends back at home with Coffeecamp Kovilj's wireless web access. Other handy amenities on offer here include well-maintained toilets and showers and a laundry room. A selection of local produce is available to buy on site, while guests in need of a supermarket are a 10-minute drive from well-stocked shops.

Local attractions
Vojvodina's capital Novi Sad (20 minutes' drive) has all sorts of rich pickings for sightseers. The impressive Petrovaradin Fortress on the banks of the Danube is home to hundreds of years of military history, while down in the town centre you can admire the architecture at Liberty Square or wander through art galleries before heading to a traditional čardas-style restaurant for fish dishes, drinks and local music.
Kovilj's Orthodox monastery (10 minutes) is another spot that you'll surely want to see. On top of the architecture that dates back to the 13th century, the monks produce lots of tasty traditional products like honey and rakija, a local alcoholic drink that comes in flavours including apricot and walnut. Surrounding the monastery, there's also the swampy Kovilj nature reserve (10 minutes), which is perhaps best toured on a safari-style boat trip (speak to site staff for details).
Finally, you might like to consider a day trip to Belgrade (45 minutes), Serbia's thriving capital. Must-see sights here include Kalemegdan Fortress, the spectacular Temple of Saint Sava and Knez Mihailova Street, the city's main pedestrian area where some of the best cafés, bars, restaurants and shops can be found.
