- Stunningly scenic site between the Versilia coast and the Apuan Alps
- Gypsy caravans among vineyards, trees and olive grove
- Pool overlooking the sea; produce made on site available to buy
You'll be eager to add this one to your agenda. Tuscany's Azienda Agricola Della Mezzaluna is just spectacular: home to colourful, comely and well-equipped gypsy caravans (peruse pics immediately, please), on a lush and serene site by the Tyrrhenian Sea in Massarosa.
The Azienda Agricola Della Mezzaluna company was formed in 2006 to produce organic produce in a firmly eco-friendly way. It now does that in style, growing vines, olives, fruit trees and veg to produce oil, wine, jams and jellies, alongside raising Amiata donkeys and Chamois goats that you'll see grazing peacefully in the olive grove. Find your own secluded spot among the terraced grove, the site vineyard or the pine, oak and chestnut trees for hugely relaxed Tuscan times – with hours-long picnics, but of course…
Agricola Della Mezzaluna is among the ancient settlements of the Stavia hills, between the Versilia coastline and the Apuan Alps. Many pleasant towns are dotted along this part of coast; Lucca and Pisa are 30 and 40 minutes away, and a huge highlight of the area is Lake Massaciuccoli, a protected area and home to the Puccini Festival. Festivals, markets, events and sports rallies run in the region all year round.
This highly handsome site (you have perused the pics?) comes with an outdoor pool scenically set overlooking the sea, and excellent amenities including showers, toilets and free wifi. The site produce is available to buy: best to pick up hefty samples of each type for fully-sated Tuscany hols.
