The beaches of the Salento region of Puglia are renowned for their white sands and crystal-clear waters (which are truly spectacular, so bring your snorkel). If you fancy staying within walking distance of all that (a short stroll through a grove of pine trees, without the need to cross any roads), Riva di Ugento Camping Resort might be the spot for you. Right on the Ionian Sea, this site is popular with families, thanks to its gently sloping beach and its mini and teens’ clubs, which ought to keep the kids busy while you catch up on your reading – or sample the delicious local wines… Watersports are the main draws, whether you want to hire a canoe, learn to surf or have a go at riding an inflatable towed by a speedboat. You can also have a game of tennis, enjoy a good stretch with a yoga class (daily sessions in July and August) or hire a bike to explore the pine forest and nearby coastal villages like Torre San Giovanni (15 minutes by bike). An outdoor pool with a paddling area is also available (extra fees apply). Come sunset, gather for aperitivo at the poolside bar, which arranges DJ sets and live music, as well as cinema evenings. The supermarket sells fruit and vegetables, meat and cheese. But why cook? You’re on holiday, so let the restaurant take the strain, and sample the selection of seafood dishes, local specialities and pizzas on offer. Modern toilet blocks have facilities for disabled guests and free hot-water showers. There’s also a launderette.

Liked Wir genossen einen traumhaften Aufenthalt und haben sogar 2 mal verlängert.
Das Zelt ist gut ausgestattet, bietet genug Platz für fast alles und hat ein sehr bequemes Doppelbett.
Der ganze Resort ist sehr sauber und aufgeräumt
Im Dusch- und Toilettenbereich wird regelmässig gereinigt, wir haben immer alles sauber aufgefunden.

Disliked Zur besseren Orientierung würden wir uns ein die einte oder andere Markierung wünschen um zu wissen auf welchen Teil des Geländes man sich befindet.
Das Essen im Restaurant Artas ist leider eher mittelmässig.

Liked Camping propre et super bien équipé, emplacement ombragé idéal à proximité de la plage

Disliked Nous sommes arrivés à 20h05 et l’accès nous a été refusé sous prétexte que c’était trop tard, alors que cela n’est mentionné nulle part dans les horaires d’arrivée (indiqués comme “à toute heure”). Nous avons donc été contraints de passer la nuit sur le parking devant l’entrée, dans le bruit. Le personnel de sécurité s’est montré particulièrement désagréable et nous a même refusé l’accès aux sanitaires. Une grosse déception, d’autant plus que nous avions réservé et payé pour trois nuits.
Certaines plages du camping ne sont accessibles qu'aux clients ayant réservé et payé des transats (30euros/jour), et malheureusement notre emplacement était à 50m de l'une d'elle. Nous étions donc obligés de marcher 10min pour nous rendre sur une plage avec serviettes uniquement, nous aurions aimé en être informés au moment de la réservation car avions spécialement réservé (et payé le supplément!) un emplacement proche de la plage pour éviter de marcher avec de jeunes enfants.
Déçus également par le restaurant, très bruyant, prix élevés, il nous a plus fait pensé à une cantine qu'à un lieu où passer un agréable moment.

The rugged coastline around Santa Maria di Leuca (half an hour’s drive) is dotted with sea grottoes, which you can explore on a boat excursion. Climb up to the early 18th-century Santuario di Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae, atop a promontory where you can admire both the Adriatic and Ionian seas, which converge here. The spectacular Baroque architecture of Lecce (50 minutes) has earned this city the moniker of ‘Florence of the South’. Check out the ornate façade of the Basilica di Santa Croce, then go further back in time at the well-preserved Roman Amphitheatre, or take a shaded breather at the elegant Giardini Pubblici Giuseppe Garibaldi park.
