Lovely campsite with friendly hosts. Spotless facilities, great amenities, and a peaceful setting perfect for families and pets. Good access to local sights & transport. Pitches can slope a bit, but grounds are spacious & shady. Facilities busy on weekends.

Liked Tisztaság és bőséges felszereltség minden ponton a vizes blokktól a konyháig. Kiránduló út és strand a kapu előtt, egész nap működő büfé, kedves kiszolgálás, remek hangulat. Kutyabarát hely, még kihelyezett kakizacskó is van.

Liked Osobní přístup, pravidelný úklid, tříděný odpad, možnost zvířat v kempu, vlastní bazén, upravený areál.
Samozřejmostí je běžné vybavení jako vařič, pračka, mikrovlnka, varná konvice.
Kemp se nachází v klidné lokalitě, v dosahu je hrad Máre-vár (1,75km, je to na kopci, jak už se dá od hradu čekat), pokud nestačí vlastní bazén, je hned naproti veřejné koupaliště s průzračnou vodou a kavárnou.
Ideální je tento kemp pro rodiny s dětmi a lidi s domácími mazlíčky.
Ceny za ubytování jsou mírné.

Disliked Tam vlastně není co vytknout.

Liked Fabulous owners & very clean facilities. Nice bar area. Some lovely shady spots to pitch. Very close bus stop which takes you into Pécs.

Disliked It is a bit sloping, but you would be able to get a flattish pitch. Got quite busy at the weekend and then facilities got a bit crowded.
Also a big shame that some dog owners just let them mess all over the site and don’t pick it up. No reflection on the site owners as they provide poo bags by the facilities.

Liked Everything!.. Stayed for 2x nights. A friendly welcome on arrival and during our stay.. We we're just out of season so lovely and quiet!.. Toilets and showers were kept immaculately clean. Handy washing machines available to use for a small fee. Would definitely, without hesitation, stay here again if in the area.. We also caught the bus to Pécs right outside the campsite so didn't need to move the van for the duration of our stay.

Local attractions

Take your pick from heaps of things to see and do from Máré-Vára, sticking close to base for a car-free break, or driving short distances for wildlife watching, spas, city sightseeing, a national park and three of Hungary's wine regions. The site is set on several extensive hiking routes around the eastern Mecsek mountain range, close to a riding school and within easy reach of tennis, fishing and mountain biking, just outside the village by the famed old castle of Márévár. Trips of all types are available from local village Magyaregregy, such as (ready?… you'll need a few weeks) the Hungarian wine regions of Siklós, Szekszárd and Villány, the spa resorts of Komló Sikonda, Magyarhertelend and Harkány, or the cave and bat museum of Abaliget (where meditation sessions are often held too). Castles can be ambled around at Pécsvárad, Siklós and Szigetvár. You'll need at least a few days in Pécs, about half an hour from Máré-Vára by car or just over an hour by bus. The city was once European Capital of Culture for its many sights including remnants of Roman and Turkish times: among the highlights are the ancient mosque, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Necropolis of Sopianae, the 11th-century cathedral and the 12th-century Hungarian Bishop's Palace. For shopping, potter around the Old Town or the Arkád shopping centre, where a big flea market is held every Sunday. Just over an hour away, the Danube-Drava National Park includes part of the Ramsar wetlands, as well as the famed Gemenc forest, home of mighty stags, boars, herons and eagles.
