In need of a recharge? It’s probably time you booked a stay at Ferme de L’Oadie, an organic farm surrounded by the spectacular Vercors foothills of the Drôme. You’ll be accorded a warm welcome from everyone on the two-hectare site, and that includes the elegant Shagya horses and the resident hens.
Accommodation here is in pre-pitched bell tents – all with views of craggy Glandasse mountain – which means you can arrive on site and get straight down to the serious business of having a good time. So far, so good in the relaxation stakes.
The owners have put careful thought into their campsite so you can chill. They provide a well-equipped shared kitchen with a covered terrace, and a large table for convivial meals under the shade of a gigantic mulberry tree. Their produce – eggs from the henhouse, berries, fruit jams from the orchards – is all for sale so you can indulge in tasty, fresh zero-miles food against a backdrop of stunning mountain vistas.
Your privacy is also guaranteed; with only a handful of pitches, the camping field is spacious enough to allow total privacy while you go about your rural retreat in the Rhône-Alpes.
Should you need any more inducement to destress, there are solar-powered showers with bags of hot water, washing machines (for a small charge) and secure parking for your car at the entrance to the farm.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.- No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

- At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
- Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
- Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
- There is no reception on-site: on arrival please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.
- Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.

You can explore the stunning Drôme countryside and mountain foothills surrounding the site on foot, by pedal power or on horseback through the lavender fields nearby – please just be aware that the Shagya horses at Ferme de L’Oadie are not novice rides. If you’re not a confident equestrian, then stick to making friends with them in their fields and helping out at feeding times.
Active pursuits in the surrounding countryside include hiking, mountain biking and guided walks from local experts showing you the very best of the Rhône-Alpes region. You can also up the adrenaline ante with canyoning and kayaking along the Meyrosse (five minutes’ walk), a tribute of the Drôme River, or attempting steep climbing courses at Via Ferrata Chironne (half an hour’s drive).
