Disliked: Half the toilet and shower blocks were shut, which is a shame as they looked like the newer block. The showers were like being washed with a power sprinkler. Our pitch was also given away, so when we returned from a day trip in our van, we came back to someone else parked in our spot. As a result we pitched up in the next available spot. The person working there then came and questioned who we are and why we parked up. It was a bit awkward and not something we've come across before.

Liked: Les propriétaires sont très accueillants, tout est bien expliqué, nou sommes accompagné jusqu'à notre emplacement. Il y a un petit étang dans le camping, où l'on ne peut pas se baigner mais on peut pêcher Sanitaires très propres Dommage qu'on n'est arrivé trop tard pour aller a la piscine

Liked: Very peaceful, quiet site located amongst trees and vines. Perfect for a restful break. Fishing lakes on site, along with a small swimming pool and sun deck, which is a bonus in the hot weather. Croissants and fresh bread delivered daily as required. Facilities were clean and adequate. Good sized pitches. Very welcoming and helpful owners.

Disliked: You are about one hour from most large towns, so some form of transport is essential if you are sightseeing.

Liked: The owners were lovely, site was very quiet and scenic, well laid out facilities were spotless

Disliked: Couldn't find directions on sat nav, and not very well signposted, we had problems finding the site ?? Only down side ,,,

Liked: Lovely and quiet site, hot water at the showers, couldn't wish for a better site.

Disliked: Push button in the showers could have been longer in releasing the water. Wi-Fi didn't reach our motorhome.

Local attractions

Vineyards and wine-tasting tours are all around in this area, including one in nearby Montguyon – ask the friendly La Motte team for their fave vineyards or to point you in the direction of something to suit your palate. Between April and October, book to go up in a hot air balloon after sunrise or a good hour before sunset; depending on the direction of the wind, there are more than 30 places for flight departures, including one around a kilometre from Camping La Motte, and another couple further afield in the Safari Parc de Haute-Saintonge and the Chalais airfield, both 15 kilometres away. Over in Bordeaux, an hour's drive away, visit La Cité du Vin on the banks of the Garonne to learn about the world of wine. Several good museums are around here too, including the Musée d'Aquitaine, Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Musée d'Art Contemporain, all presided over by the UNESCO-listed 11th-century Cathédrale St-André.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 40 day(s) of arrival.

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
