Here’s your chance to camp mere steps from a beach. One of the few campsites on the Picardy Coast to have direct access to the sea, Camping Onlycamp Onival has spectacular views over the Bay of the Somme (look out for the seals), 10 minutes’ drive from Woignarue. At this quiet coastal site, pitches are set roughly 30 yards from the water – and light years away from the bustle of everyday life. Once you arrive, take a deep breath of fresh sea air and then get stuck into a multitude of activities. Venture out onto the water to try your hand at canoeing, sailing or yachting, or jump on your bike and be off exploring the Opal Coast. Secure bike storage is provided for your peace of mind. At the end of a busy and fun-filled day, hot showers, washing-up sinks and baby-changing areas are on hand. You won’t need to worry about food, as the snack bar takes care of any munchies, and in high season, there’s a small store selling cold drinks, ice cream and local produce. Any questions while you’re there? Just ask the friendly team at reception.

Gorgeous seaside spot, loved by all for beach access & views. Free pitch choice, staff are sound. Sanitary blocks are a bit knackered though, and some say the grounds need a trim. Still, a grand, quiet break for most.

Liked Die Kommunikation mit der Rezeption war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten es aufgrund von Staus nicht rechtzeitig bis 19 Uhr auf den Platz geschafft. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns die Möglichkeit gegeben, auch später auf den Platz zu fahren. Auch vor Ort war das Personal in der Rezeption sehr freundlich.

Liked The campsite is a short walk to the beach from your tent. You have a shop onsite which sells ice, ice bottles, toiletries and pizza. People on the reception were always really nice and happy to help. Come and go as you please as they give you a thob. Big supermarkets within 10mins drive. A bakery can comes everyday(except a Mondays) with bread, croissants, pain au chocolat etc.
Lovely food container on the beach front selling drinks, ice creams, chips burgers, hotdogs, crepes, churros which were all lovely! Beach was never over full. The site itself was clean the toilet blocks, shower and laundry blocks were spotless the whole of the stay! I would recommend to anyone who wants a quiet get away which is not too far from drive from Calais.
Campsite was very trusting with leaving your tent open and ventilated as you go about your day, easy to set up and leave. No problems at all during our 4 night stay!

Liked La propreté qui c'est fortement améliorer et endroit calme

Disliked Manque un passage pour la plage comme avant même juste une porte . obligé de faire tout le tour , le petit magasin et le bar qui fesait vivre le camping fermé donc plus de coin de rencontre maintenant les clients dorment mais compliqué à faire des rencontres . Aucune animation et des tarifs bien plus chers qu'avant

Local attractions

With direct access to lengthy Onival Beach from the pitches, you can soon be sand yachting, kitesurfing or messing about in dinghies. Try a spot of sea fishing from the shoreline, explore along the coastline on horseback (15 minutes’ drive), or have a peaceful wander along the seafront Sentier du Littoral Baie de Somme. Extend your walk atop the imposing Opal Coast chalk cliffs to the laid-back resort of Ault (half an hour’s walk), stopping off at the Notre-Dame d’Onival chapel (20 minutes) along the way to admire its ornate bell tower topped with gargoyles. The Bay of the Somme is renowned for its colony of harbour seals; you can sometimes spot them basking on the sand at low tide. Best places to see them? Pointe du Hourdel (25 minutes’ drive), Saint-Valery-sur-Somme (20 minutes) and Le Crotoy (35 minutes). Take binoculars to watch their antics, and always keep a respectful distance away. To hear more about local wildlife conservation, tour the interactive Maison de la Baie de Somme (20 minutes).
