Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked: The location so close to town was incredible

Disliked: During our stay there was a group of 3 men who seemed to be by the toilets / wash facilities all hours of the day and night and it was a little intimidating at times because they were stood RIGHT OUTSIDE while you were using the loo or addressing hygiene in what should have been a much more ‘private’ area than they made it, not the sites fault, but rather intimidating all the same.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked: It was cheap.

Disliked: I really don't recommend this site. It was cramped and there were no numbered pitches. Although it had been raining we had to stop on a muddy pitch that wasn't level. Toilets were basic and didn't smell good. Next morning we were woken early by loud people fishing. Some of the photos look like they were too taken somewhere else.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Every thing. Looks nothing like the pictures on pitch up when u are booking. Got there at 9.15pm noone around rang number didn't speak English at all even though the site states English German and French. We then parked up in a space we could find which were very small and tight to get a camper in and hooked for the night. When we got up in the morning and looked around the toilets were filthy squat holes this was not for us at all !! We paid for the night we had been there and left as soon as was possible! We had 2 young children with us who refused to get out of the campervan ! The pictures on here are a lie!

Liked: Unkomplizierte Anreise nach 19 Uhr. Günstig gelegen. Plätze haben eine gute Größe. Nettes Personal.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked: The Park is in a good location for sightseeing or to local shops. The young person who conducted the check-in was very helpful and gave good advice on where to go and see. Other than that I have nothing else I can comment on Likes.

Disliked: The Park in general is maintained. The hedges are trimmed and the grass is cut. On the other hand The facilities are poorly maintained. The shower/toilet block (unisex) needs a considerable amount of work to bring it to a five star rating. There are two showers and four toilets. One shower recess has a toilet located within this recess. At the time of using the WC did not work. The toilet seat was broken. There were many tiles missing in this recess. The shower itself was in a disgusting state. Black mould was growing in the grout of the shower recess. The tiles were dirty. The recess in general was very unhygienic. The drain smells of sewage. The second shower was no better except it had a seat to undress or dress yourself upon. The grout in this shower recess had black mould growing within the grout. The tiles were dirty. The floor was not much better. Tiles were also missing with considerable gaps between tiles. The drain to this shower recess was also smelling of sewage. The tiled walls within both showers recess were very dirty with cob-webs (spiders) located in every corner. These wall were also unclean. It begs to ask the question to the owner of this property, “Would you allow your husband/wife, mother/Grandmother or Grandfather to shower within this recess/s or use a toilet that is unserviceable?” The street lights around the park were either not working, or completely destroyed. It was hazardous walking at night. In respect to security the Park seem to be secure, however no security cameras were observed around the Park.

Local attractions

The main sights to see at the quiet small town of Péronne are the Alfred Danicourt Museum, its 13th-century castle and its Museum of the Great War, with two main permanent exhibitions as well as overall information on the conflict. The battlefields and memorials relating to the Somme are within easy driving distance from town. A Péronne farmers' market is on every Saturday to pick up fresh Picardy produce to have back at the barbie or for a picnic out of town; bikes can be hired at the Péronne tourist information centre to access over 120 kilometres of path along the Somme Canal. Within an hour's drive is Somme department capital Amiens, one of France's Towns and Lands of Art and History and also known for its huge Christmas market every December, the biggest in northern France. Its best known building is its cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 13th century; among its other most visited attractions are the hortillonnages or floating gardens, the Jules Verne House, Picardy Museum and the old quarters of Saint-Leu and Saint-Maurice. The local swimming pool is 200 metres from the site.
