'All you need is Camping Les Amiaux,' reckons its amiable team. As is very much the case if you're looking for a large and lively family park with activities, entertainment and facilities for all ages – and possibly also a big sandy beach 800 metres away through a pretty woodland path? Sorted, sorted and oh so sorted. There are 16 hectares of handsome grounds for you and the kids to let loose at here, set next to a pine forest close to the Vendée seaside town of Saint-Jean-de-Monts. Much more of the same is within easy reach, as the sands, cycle paths and overall splendidness of the island of Noirmoutier are a short drive to the north and Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie are 25 minutes' south. You may, however, opt to plonk and put roots down on the sands of Saint-Jean-de-Monts: they stretch for a lush eight kilometres... There are excellent watery options to be had on site too, with a big waterpark and waterslides, a paddling pool with a roomy water playground for small splashers, an indoor heated pool for covered dips, and a sundeck for idle times after all that. Active sorts can plunge in for aqua aerobics or aqua zumba too, part of the busy activities and entertainment programme Mondays to Fridays in summer that includes a kids' club, archery sessions, sports competitions and evening karaoke, games and concerts. More? Read on... you can take yourself off to the fitness room, hire a bike to investigate the local trails, or bang a ball around at the table tennis tables, tennis and volleyball courts or multisports field. As you'll then need a break, wifi is available at reception, at the bar and in designated areas throughout the site. Camping Les Amiaux also has a restaurant, takeaway and well-stocked grocery shop – all you need, indeed...

Liked Great pool with slides. Has three pools in total. Good sports facilities- table tennis, football area and basket ball court.
Great bar and restaurant with a kids menu too and included familiar and local food options. Entertainment every night. Not too far from the beach (although not walking distance if carrying lots to the beach). Close to other towns for markets, supermarkets, and other touristy places. Facilities clean. Good sized pitches. Fresh bread and croissants in shop everyday.

Disliked Chlorine in inside pool very strong. Recommend wearing goggles.
Although good recycling facilities would have appreciated a few more places.
The times they clean the toilets would be better mid morning rather than first thing!

Fresh bread daily.
Shop prices were decent.

Disliked Uneven sloping pitch. No grass just sand and gravel. Under trees with no sun.
Beach was a lot further than 800 metres more like over a mile.
Entrance to site very congested whilst checking in. To the point that we were swore at by impatient people who were unable to pass by.
Teenagers running around shouting and screaming after midnight.

Liked The pool was great, lifeguards very observant. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent thank you so much to the bar staff for their hospitality. Great mix of nationalities there which was good. There was great accessible toilets with showers, kitchen sinks and all free for use. Location was great, very good cycle paths

Disliked The kids club looked drab and the staff didn’t speak English there so my little boy was unable to happily attend. The wifi and signal is terrible really poor for both. No toilet roll available in the toilets so bring your own

Liked We really enjoyed our stay here, the pitches were large and spacious, with hedges for privacy. It was a busy site, but still felt calm. There is noise at night from surrounding area, but this didn’t bother us.
Good location, with great bicycle routes.
Swimming pool was great fun. Shop and bar on site. Facilities were good too, no toilet paper, (but this seems to be a French thing, they did have a sink with soap to wash hands).
Needed to pay for WiFi, we didn’t use.
Would stay again.
