What customers say
Grand stopover, friendly staff, good grub and pints, and plenty of room for your tent. Handy for the ferry and tunnel. Toilets and showers are a bit dated and grubby, though some say they're getting better. Can be a bit noisy from the bar.

Nothing…
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Nothing
Disliked We arrived at the campsite at 2:30 p.m., only to find nobody around in the café or reception. Fortunately, two lovely residents took pity on us and kindly let us onto the campsite so we could find a pitch. There was still nobody available from the campsite itself.
We eventually phoned the contact number provided, only to be told that the lady responsible would not arrive until 4 p.m., which was the advertised check-in time. When she eventually opened the booking diary, our reservation was not even recorded, and she appeared to know nothing about our booking.
To make matters worse, there was no electricity available on any of the touring pitches. We were told there was a problem with the electricity, yet power was working in all the toilets and for the residents living on site permanently. We were therefore left without electricity for our caravan.
We were also given no instructions on how to enter or leave the campsite. The lady agreed to reduce our fee by €2 because of the problems, but despite this, we were still charged the full price.
We were told that the café would open at 6 p.m., so we left the site to find something to eat. When we returned, there was nobody around again, and we had to work out for ourselves how to get back into the campsite.
The toilets and showers were another major disappointment. They were dirty, untidy and looked as though they had not been cleaned for some considerable time. There was also no toilet paper in any of the toilets.
We have travelled extensively around Europe with our touring caravan, visiting Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, and we have never felt the need to leave such a negative review before. Unfortunately, this campsite has been by far the worst experience we have had.
I would strongly advise anyone planning to tour Europe, particularly those travelling back to the UK, to look for an alternative campsite. The lack of organisation, facilities, cleanliness and basic customer service was simply unacceptable.
The one saving grace was a fantastic local restaurant nearby. The food was excellent, and the owner was equally fantastic. Sadly, that was the only genuinely positive part of our stay.
An extremely disappointing experience that we would not wish to repeat.

Handy for tunnel
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Quiet, easy access to tunnel, friendly, residents of mobiles were so helpful, there was water, toilets, showers, which we don’t need to use, and our pitch was big, owner was very helpful, nothing fancy but just what we wanted. We didn’t have any noise from bar but it was nearing end of season, big carrefour up the road.

Not recommended
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Nothing - was unable to access site.
Disliked Booked this site at last minute due to scheduling changes, arrived at just after advised arrival time, site in darkness, restaurant closed, barrier down, no answer on phone number given (and still no acknowledgment/call back 2 days later) - left stranded with young children late at night. Would not recommend.

Close to Calais. Peaceful site.
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Just a night stop for us on our way back to the uk. Easy check in. We arrived and no one was there but I rang the warden and he said explained everything. We just had to pop to the bar later in the evening to pay.
The toilets were basic but clean. The showers were a case of “don’t judge a book by it cover”. We’ve been touring France and Spain for the last 6 weeks and these were the hottest and most powerful showers we had experienced the whole time. No push button. No 6 second blasts. Just a pure warm and powerful shower!
The grass pitch we had was quite spacious but some were quite small.
Disliked Nothing.
