- Outdoor pool, donkey park, volleyball court and heated washroom
- Direct river access for fishing and near a lake for watersports
The site has direct access to the river for fishing, and there's lots of other activities nearby too, including golf, canoeing, climbing and an adventure park.Go for this family-friendly and well-set site if you're up for riverside stays in Languedoc-Roussillon's Lozère department, edged by green mountains, with direct access to the water for fishing – and with a donkey or two on site to say hi too…
Golf, climbing and an adventure park are among the options close to this Allier river site, along with sailing on Naussac lake, rafting in the Ardèche Mountains Regional Natural Park, and canoeing or climbing around the Gorges du Gardon, the Gorges du Tarn and the Gorges de l'Ardeche, between 40 and 55 kilometres away. The shops and restaurants of Langogne are within five minutes' walk.
Kids will get a kick out of the donkey park on site, where they can meet and greet the resident animals, and there are two playgrounds and a heated outdoor pool to keep kids busy as well. Also around are courts for volleyball and pétanque court, table tennis and a games room; there's wifi across the site, and one of the two washrooms is heated in low season.
La Cigale de l'Allier has a snack bar with takeaway, and a mini market selling groceries, essentials and fresh bread and pastries.

Local attractions
Along with the river fishing right alongside, stacks of splendid days are within a short drive of this scenic site, such as teeing off at the local golf course four kilometres away, sailing and canoeing on Naussac lake (also four kilometres) and tackling the Rondin des Bois adventure course (six kilometres).
Also actively, have a day or more rafting, climbing or hiking in the Monts d'Ardèche Natural Regional Park (20 kilometres), or get to the region's gorges for canoeing among spectacular scenery: Gardon is 38 kilometres from local town Lagogne; Tarn 54 and the Gorges de l'Ardeche 56.
For a slice of history, try the Spinning Mill of Calquieres (one kilometre) or the Château de Luc (10 kilometres), built in the 12th century and passed by Robert Louis Stevenson on his journey with a donkey in the Cévennes (yes, really). And a must is a look at the fab old town of Pradelles, five kilometres from Langogne, home of the also-fab Pradelles Vélorail where you can pedal gently along the line of an old rail track.
The thermal springs of Bagnols-les-Bains can be sunk into 35 kilometres away.
