It's free, quick and easy!
- Riverside setting with private beach
- Waterpark with waterslides and paddling pool
- Well located for walks in the Cévennes National Park
Right in the Cévennes National Park and in a riverside setting with its own private beach… this will be a Gard holiday of beach basking, swimming, hiking and horse riding (with plenty of lazing about chucked in too).
The walking and cycling trails of the national park are easily accessed from Camping Les Plans, to explore on your own or on a guided walk from the site. Other activities nearby include fishing, canoeing, climbing and horse riding, cave exploring in the nearby Grotte de Trabuc, or taking a day trip to the fab ancient Roman aqueduct of the Pont du Gard, 35 kilometres away.
Camping Les Plans is on the banks of the Gardon de Mialet river, 10 kilometres from the town of Alès. It's a family-oriented site, with summer activities for kids of all ages, along with entertainment such as music evenings, karaoke nights and cabaret shows.
Among the many other leisure facilities are a waterpark with waterslides and a paddling pool; fishing; miniature golf; pétanque; a fitness centre; a TV room and a playground.
Sorting eats and drinks is stress-free here too, at the site bar, restaurant, takeaway and grocery shop selling fresh bread and other food.

Local attractions
You can ditch the car and stay close to site for your whole holiday here, whether lazing on the riverside beach, swimming and fishing in the river, or heading off onto the Cévennes National Park's walking and cycling routes.
Venturing out by vehicle (or bike, if you still fancy), the Grotte de Trabuc cave four kilometres away is a must-see around here for its '100,000 soldiers': the several thousand small structures similar to stalagmites, clustered together like troops. Also nearby is Saint-Jean-du-Gard, five kilometres away, where you can catch a train on the heritage railway running from the village to Anduze, via the Bambouseraie de Prafrance bamboo garden.
And then onto the Pont du Gard… the spectacular Roman aqueduct spanning the Gardon river, 35 kilometres from the site and one of the best-preserved Roman aqueducts in the world.
