- Dog-friendly site on the banks of the Gardon river in Anduze
- At the southern end of the Cévennes National Park
- Pool, waterslides, zipline, bar, restaurant and entertainment
What’ll be first on the agenda at Camping Le Bel Été d'Anduze, a site sitting at the foot of the scenic Cévennes mountains and on the banks of the Gardon d'Anduze river? A refreshing dip in the water? A spot of fishing? Or how about getting right into the swing of things with a ride on the 110-metre zipline?
You’re in for an entertaining stay at this family-friendly site whichever pursuit you pick first – there’s also a swimming pool with a couple of slides and a bunch of other active stuff such as quad biking, miniature golf, volleyball, table tennis, pétanque tournaments and water balls for walking on the water.
During high season there’s yet more going on, including entertainment like karaoke and dancing, and a play area for kids with six slides is always open.
Canine pals need a break from the daily routine too, so bring yours along and have them join in on the action courtesy of the one-hectare dog-walking area. They’re also welcome to scurry along the banks and splash in the water down by the river.
When thoughts turn to food and drink, an on-site bar and restaurant is your go-to for quenching thirst and alleviating hunger pangs. But perhaps the best part? Dishes like pizzas, salads, pasta and burgers can all be easily washed down with a cocktail (or two, or three…).

Local attractions
This site’s a fantastically located spot for setting off on saunters around the Cévennes National Park, a space of low-rising mountains and the towering bamboo displays at the La Bambouseraie en Cévennes botanical garden (10 minutes’ drive).
If the youngsters aren’t so keen on pottering around plant-filled places, let them loose on the Forest Parc treetop adventure courses (10 minutes) with its rope-based activities, or organise underground expeditions at the Caves of Trabuc (20 minutes) and Grotte des Demoiselles cave (40 minutes).
An activity to please both nippers and parents alike is a ride on the Steam Train of the Cévennes, starting from 20 minutes away, where visitors chug from Anduze to Saint-Jean-du-Gard along a 13-kilometre journey through tunnels and atop viaducts with smashing views of the Gardon valleys all around.
Historical spots are easy to access as well – regional highlight the Pont du Gard, a massive Roman aqueduct (50 minutes), and the Arena of Nîmes (40 minutes) – one of the world best-preserved amphitheatres – are both must-visits for cultural buffs.
