Can’t decide on a rural getaway or a few days in Paris? There’s a very good compromise to be found at Camping MBS Les Chesnets, set in the leafy countryside of Île-de-France, and yet only 20 minutes by train from Paris Saint-Lazare. To make your journey into the big city even easier to organise, there’s a shuttle service to Vernouillet-Verneuil station available from the pitches too. Set on the edge of Verneuil-sur-Seine in the department of Yvelines, this small and friendly site is tucked among trees and has a modern, heated sanitary block with lots of hot water, a washing-up area and a handy laundry room to keep on top of domestic chores. Barbecues are allowed on site, and you can pick up bits and pieces for your grill in Verneuil-sur-Seine (five minutes’ drive); otherwise you have a choice of several bistros and bars serving delicious local produce. Camping MBS Les Chesnets is also dog-friendly, and if you are travelling with your four-legged best pal, you’ll all have plenty of exercise on woodland walks along the banks of the River Seine.

A grand spot, with good pitches and spanking-new facilities. Wi-Fi, bar, laundry all grand. Handy for Paris/Versailles, but mind the motorbike buzz. Travel times to the city are worth a think.

Liked This is a great little site, well placed for Paris and Versailles. The site was immaculately clean with really great facilities, the owners have obviously worked hard.

Liked Wir haben uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Die Besitzer sind sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit.Die Bäder sind super sauber und neu.Der Ausflug nach Paris ging problemlos.Der Imbiss ist praktisch.Geschäfte sind 7 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt.Nette Sitzgelegenheiten mit großen schönen Bäumen und ein Boule Feld. Kinder konnten auf dem Gelände frei spielen.Man konnte die Besitzerin zu normalen Zeiten immer telefonisch erreichen.Außerdem wohnt sie auf dem Gelände.Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Disliked Außerhalb vom Campingplatz wohnen kleine und große Hofhunde, die gut aufpassen. Die wollten meinen Hund verjagen. Da muss man etwas aufpassen, wenn man Gassi geht. Bringt besser alles, was ihr braucht vorher aus dem Ort mit.Man kann am Campingplatz nichts kaufen.Kein extra Spielbereich für Kinder.Manchmal war die Rezeption, während der Öffnungszeiten nicht besetzt.

Liked Stunning park , very clean! Shower and toilet facilities were th3 best ones we have been to! Bar was a nice extra touch with great prices. Was a language barrier but hosts tried their hardest to communicate to make it as simple to understand as possible. Not far from Paris in a car which was a great bonus!

Liked It was a mediocre facility camping park. The lady who runs the facility wasnt very friendly but she was accomdating we arrived 20 mins late and left an hour after check out. very tight roads to get to the camping park. The toilets were clean but only 2 WC and 2 shower rooms.

Disliked The out of order machines. Basic amenities and not much for kids to do.

I find it a little inappropriate all the same. In fact, we do not have any children's games available. We mainly work with people on business trips. Liked Durchaus nett, Zaun rundum mit Sichtschutz, Mülltrennung

Disliked Keiner anderen Sprache als Französisch mächtig.
Nur 2 Duschen, die auch noch zeitlich eingeschränkt nutzbar sind. Die Hygiene der Fliesenfugen ist verbesserungsbedürftig. Auch steht der Raum hinterher unter Wasser, welches mittels Fidscher entfernt werden soll, wofür es in dem einen Duschraum keinen Abfluss gibt, dieser befindet sich vor der Tür. In den beiden Duschräumen befinden sich jeweils 2 Waschbecken, welche nicht durch andere genutzt werden können, wenn geduscht wird.
Es stehen zu wenig Toiletten (2-3) zur Verfügung. Es hängen zwar Hinweise zur Nutzung der Toilettenbürste gut sichtbar u in mehreren Sprachen aus, allerdings ist die Toilettenbürste durch den Deckel am Stiehl nicht komplett verwendbar, da die Bürste dadurch nicht zu den Hinterlassenschaften kommen kann. Durch ein zu kurz eingestelltes Intervall des Bewegungsmelders im Toilettenraum wird man quasi im Dunkeln sitzen gelassen.
Die Nachbarn des Platzes sind unangenehm laut. Der Shuttle zum Bahnhof war nicht vorhanden und auch nicht auffindbar, sodass ein 30 minütiger Fußweg zum Bahnhof einzuplanen ist.

Liked A quiet, peaceful campsite with friendly owners. A good location for visiting Versailles. The toilets and showers were modern and very clean.

Disliked Maybe a few more showers and a wash basin in the toilets.

Liked Peaceful site, easy to navigate, close to amenities and local shops if cycling or driving.

Able to get water and get rid of waste easily.

Would be even better with a pool.

Gated site with a gate that gets closed so if going or coming late speak to the owners for the code else you will not get in/out “out of hours”

Close to Paris by road or train link

Disliked Limited numbers of showers and toilets to use. Managed to use shower but had to queue each time. Very clean though.

Laundrette feature hard to use when reception is shut due to needing tokens so not instantly convenient.
