Not un but deux rivers flank the Seine-Maritime site Camping Des 2 Rivières, for it sits on a peaceful petite island close to the teeny village of Martigny. Two branches of the Varenne flow on either side of the site, with direct access to the water for folk who fancy a bit of fishing. And the aquatic attractions don’t end there, for this is an area of many lakes, with the nearest being just beyond the river; it stretches out to a sizeable 20 hectares and is home to a watersports centre that rents paddleboards, canoes and small boats to those that make the five-minute walk from site. Still seeking more? The Dieppe coast is a 15-minute drive away for beaches and seaside strolls (plus ferries for channel-crossing types). Water alone isn’t enough to sustain life though, so at some point you’ll probably want to amble to up Arques-la-Bataille (a 25-minute walk or 10-minute bike ride away) to source supermarket supplies or settle in for local eats in the restaurants. Through the summer, keep an eye on the site’s own schedule too, to see if there any themed meals are planned (paella, barbecue and moules nights are frequent faves). Work up an appetite for your dinner by signing up for pétanque competitions in high season, or honing your technique at other times. Badminton, table tennis, table football and video games also await for those who need an outlet for their competitive edge.

Sure, this lovely spot gets a thumbs up for its serene riverside and lakeside spots. The staff are sound, and the pitches are grand, with easy access to Dieppe and the ferry. Facilities are clean but basic for some, and a few mentioned iffy Wi-Fi and not much happening of an evening.

Liked Het was een mooie ruime camping; lekker rustig in een prachtig fiets gebied. De camping werd goed schoongehouden en er was heerlijk vers brood aan de receptie. Aantrekkelijke prijs!

Disliked Camping was nogal gedateerd en slecht onderhouden. Er was verder niets te doen..En altijd belangrijk; geen toiletpapier..

Liked Convenient distance from the ferry, nice pond with ducks. Relaxing place IF you get a good pitch.

Disliked Sloping pitch , water in the shower just warm, no lighting at the campsite at night, poor Internet connection

Liked The site was beautiful with lovely pitches overlooking the lake which were quiet & tranquil.

Liked Het terrein was geweldig rond de grote vijver!

Disliked Geen toiletpapier aanwezig, geen warm water tijdens het douchen,maar 5cm grond op stenen ondergrond dus stevige haringen meenemen voor staanplaats caravan/camper.gebouw heeft een opknapbeurt nodig: spiegel gebarsten, losse tegel, lekkende kraan. sanitaire gebouwen en vuilnisplaats liggen aan receptie dus met wat pech telkens goede wandeling doen tot daar.

Local attractions

The water-based activities around here are indeed many, but there's no lack of things to do if you'd rather keep dry for a while. Perhaps you might like to take a stroll along the forest trails around Arques-la-Bataille or pedal over to the Avenue Verte (five minutes away) for 60 kilometres of safe, family-friendly bike path? More forest frolics can be had from the horse riding centre 15 minutes away or on the treetop trails at Arb’aventure (also 15 minutes). Want to see some wildlife? What sort would you expect to see around here? Of course – bisons (non?) And that’s exactly what you’ll see (along with a herd of deer) charging across the fields at Reve de Bisons (15 minutes' drive). If your holiday isn't complete until you've seen a château, get your fill of fancy buildings at Château de Miromesnil (15 minutes), Château de Mesnières (25 minutes) or the Château-Musée in Dieppe (15 minutes), home to a cracking collection of French art and artefacts. While in Dieppe, it's worth a wander around to seek out the town's war memorials, sniff out local produce at the market and take a dip at the beach.
